Requesting a Jellyfish Mob

The recent Aquatic update is probably Minecraft's best yet, in my humble opinion. The new mobs, the added blocks, and best of all, the CLEAR WATER. I am very much looking forward to diving into everything this update has to offer.

So here is my request. In light of the droves of new water mobs that have popped up, I found myself feeling like it was all missing one tiny but nevertheless attractive mob idea - jellyfish! I mean, jellyfish ARE one of the most common sea creatures around, and if we have pufferfish, it stands to reason we could have the jellies.

The Minecraft team has brought us some supremely creative ideas for creatures roaming about our world, I mean we have dolphins that chase the player's boat and turtles that lay eggs in the sand. A jellyfish mob would be icing on the cake. Think about it - instead of just the squid, we now have a small, colorful, tentacled little guy with lots of potential for unique behavior. Maybe the player takes minor damage from its stingers when they bump into one. Maybe it has a glow-in-the-dark feature, or swims in clusters. Maybe the turtle mob naturally chases after them. It would be a beautiful edition to Minecraft aquariums and ocean worlds.

Why my enthusiasm for a possible jelly mob? Well, for the last 2 years I've been building a very, VERY large world as a gift for a special somebody of mine, who is an avid Minecraft fan. Her favorite animal is jellyfish. Her birthday is coming up in a couple months... and I thought that if some important Minecraft team member saw this message and graced it with a "yeah, let's do it!", it would be the ultimate gift for this ultimate gamer girl. If I could take her on a surprise tour of a jellyfish aquarium on her birthday, it would make her whole month. I would be eternally grateful if someone out there could lend a hand, lend a vote, and make this possible.

    Ocean creatures are the coolest. I would love to see jellyfish implemented...and I do think they should do some damage and nausea if you hit them (like thorns) or if you touch their tentacles. I love the concept designs, and appreciate what you're doing for your special someone.

    i think the jellyfish mob is a very great idea.it adds more life to the ocean and is a good source of slime in peaceful mode.

    I absolutely love this idea. I’ve seen real jellyfish, but only once. It would be nice if someone could also a midnight zone in the sea or something like that to go with the jellyfish. I thought of that wile I was reading your long article. I also liked how long and descriptive you made your article.

    I think I know some mobs Mojang should add in Minecraft. Mojang PLEASE add Sharks and Piranhas, they,re the only mobs that you should add that attack. Come on man!! You can only think 3 hostile mobs that live in water. Add more like Glow Guardian and the Drowned Guard

    Glow Guardian

    Mob Type: Hostile

    What they can do: See everything using its eye even when you throw a Blindness Potion at it.

    Attack you with its spikes and give you Mining Fatigue.

     

    Health Points: 30 x 15

    What it drops: Prismarine Shards or Crystals, Glow Dye (if sheared or not), Raw Fish (or cooked of burned to death) , and a Wet Sponge.

     

    Drowned Guard:

    Mob Type: Hostile

    What it can do: Form tsunamis, one shot you, and spawn Drowneds

    Health Points: 50 x 45

    What it drops:

    With Super Trident: Either Enchanted Trident or Super Trident, Fishing Rod, Rotten Flesh, Gold Ingots

    Without Super Trident: Fishing Rod, Rotten Flesh, Gold Ingots

    this idea is awesome, but i feel there is just one iconic jelly missing from this, the immortal jellyfish. if it was added it would sink to the bottom when it dies to form a coral- like thing that spawns new immortal jellys
