    So there is no positive use for rusted iron? No support. This would just be annoying for people who use iron blocks in outdoor builds

    Because in the new minecraft caves and cliffs update, copper oxidizes(turns teal green), iron should oxidize too over time and exposure to moisture to "add history to minecraft". For the others who said it has no use, actually it has, it represents time passing by.
