Let's be honest here, the End is... too safe. I mean, sure, there's the Enderdragon, but you only need to kill it ONCE. Endermen don't directly attack you unless you look at them or hit them, and Shulkers are dangerous, but not dangerous enough.
So, I have come up with an idea that, hopefully, should interest you.
Lo and behold... THE PEEPER!

(NOT FINAL)
Peepers are the guardians of the end cities, they float around the end city island, keeping an eye out for any unidentified beings. If it spots a creature that it doesn't recognise, it will begin to attack it using end-waves, a new, fast, hard-to-dodge projectile that doesn't do much damage, but has pretty high knockback, making it so that, if you aren't careful, you may fall into the void, so you might not want to take very expensive items to the end city. For every three end waves fired, the peeper "overheats", causing it to have to cool down for 5 seconds, which gives you a window of time to attack them.
If you manage to kill one, a very hard task, they drop their power source, the peeper core. Using these cores, you can make a new type of redstone mechanism, as well as your very own peeper!
Here are the recipes:
Key: P = Peeper Core, S = Shulker Shell, E = Ender Eye, R = Redstone, I = Iron, D = Dye
(Colour) Peeper Base: S D S
. D E D
. S P S
Detector: I R I
R E R
I P I
Now let's get into what both of these do.
Peeper Base: The peeper base, when right clicked, opens a menu where you can select what mobs the peeper will attack, and what mobs it won't attack. You can even set it to attack other players! After clicking "activate", the peeper base will spawn your very own peeper, which comes in the same colour as the dye you used when making the peeper base. The domestic peeper will not go any further than 10 blocks away from the peeper base. You can also set the peeper to "stationary" from the peeper base menu, which basically turns the peeper into a turret. The end waves that the domestic peeper shoots have less knockback than the original peeper, and your domestic peeper can be killed. Don't worry if your peeper is killed! You can spend one peeper core to revive it.
Detector: The redstone detector emits a redstone signal from the back when a certain type of mob enters a 1 block radius in front of it. Just like the peeper base, you can set what mob type will activate the detector. You could make some pretty cool contraptions with this!
I hope you like my revamped idea for the peeper! I really hope this gets into the game, I'd be honoured.
Peace out.
