When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

    I've always wanted colored light in Minecraft and this would be the perfect way to get it. I hope Mojang at least puts this in: Under Review!

    YES! Also, everyone who said black lamps don't work, there is a thing called black light. It's actually a kind of purple, but it could create that, instead! Similarly, tinted glass could lower the light level by two each, up to 7 crafted around the lamp. If it becomes eight, the lamp only glows on itself, and doesn't light anything up. This could be cool if you could put tinted glass over any other stained glass ones, as well, to get darker colored lights! I know it's complicated, and it creates a ton of outcomes, but there are thousands of tropical fish, so I'm sure Mojang could do it. Thank you for reading my comment! :)

    Black lamps could function like a black light, and make certain things glow in its presence.

    the best way imo would be to make glowstone dust dyeable. This makes glowstone blocks, and by extension, redstone lamps, also dyeable.

    We could combine Tinted Glass with Redstone lamps to adjust it's intensity, too, aside from color.

    There can either be just two intensity settings (Redstone lamp mixed vs not mixed with tinted glass);
    Or there can be up to 8 intensity settings depending on how many tinted glass blocks are being used to craft the Tinted Redstone Lamp,
    Or the intensity settings can also depend on the colors, following how light vs dark the color originally is, but affecting the intensity only when using tinted glass in the crafting recipe.

    But it should be able to cycle through colors using redstone or something so people can use it as a multi colored lamp

    I hope that they will add this feature soon because it could add so many possibilities to so many Redstone creations.

    You could also do multicoloured lamps which would be crafted by surrounding a lamp with different coloured dyes. It would then emit different colours based on the redstone signal strength, eg 1 is red, 2 orange, 3 yellow ect. It could make for very cool redstone and also better redstone computers.

    There are no colors in the Java lightning system but I've heard they changed it the lightning system in recent snapshots so if they add colors it may be possible in future updates

    This could be easily accommodated by having a recipe for combining stained glass with a redstone lamp. Just like how you change the color of the beacon.

    maybe rather than differently colored lamps make a lamp that shows different color based on the signal strength its being powered by?

    White, Light Grey, Grey, and Black dyes can all dim the light (white barely dims it, like fogged glass), the way oxidized copper bulbs can be stripped or waxed to brighten or dim their light levels.

    Yes it will be really good because it doesn't look wery well when this is a glass and lamp

    I think if they gonna introduce this feature, it should be different compared to a normal redstone lamp. The new copper bulb is a good example. I feel like they should be called colored bulbs instead, and they will be powered by pulse like the copper bulb. If you power them by a constant power longer than 4 gameticks, they will stay powered. They also give a different color depending on the signal strength. This can be useful for computational redstoners to make a colored display.

    This would add so much. The crafting recipe is glowstone surrounded by 4 redstone dust. This is a good recipe and we should stick to a similar format for the other colors. The middle item should be a light emitting full block that gives out a light level of 15 that doesn't require redstone or any kind of input or interaction condition to give off light. The current available blocks as of 1.20 are:

    Glowstone

    Jack o' Lantern

    Froglights

    Sea Lantern

    Shroomlight

    With these we can get 6 more colors in addition to the default lit redstone lamp color. I propose:

    Jack o' Lantern = Orange Redstone Lamp

    Pearlescent Froglight = Purple Redstone Lamp

    Ochre Froglight = Yellow Redstone Lamp

    Verdant Froglight = Green Redstone Lamp

    Sea Lantern = Light Blue Redstone Lamp

    Shroomlight = Red Redstone Lamp

    Glowstone could stay unchanged or just be renamed to Brown Redstone Lamp
