NOTICE

Are you sure you want to report this?

When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

    or better yet just make hoppers be able to placed in different directions kinda like stair or levers

    This is a nice idea, it would make large storage systems a lot easier, now there are other ways of transporting items upward, like soul sand water towers, or dropper-vators but they can require far progression in the game and can be catastrophic or very large in redstone builds setting you back a few hours if your tower sprung a leak.

    This would make item elevators much easier.

    This does not make sense. Hoppers are supposed to be like a funnel or marble run, the items pass along the chain and fall downwards. Also, there needs to be a challenge to making redstone machines. If a 3x3 piston door was just one block that you place down and a piston door appears, it would take the fun out of working out how to build one. I disagree with this suggestion.

    that's acctually a great idea. it would make item elevators so much easier and cheaper. i hope they add this feature

    This is a great idea because droppers and dispensers require a noisy clock to eject all the items inside.

    It should be a block that moves the item without an redstone signal. A redstone signal would stop it from working like a real hopper.

    Dran divine that would make it maybe a little to OP. Especially since items themselves experience gravity.

    It should just be a normal hopper, but you should be able to place them upside down and many sideways as well.

    I like this idea and I agree that something like this should be constantly powered to pull items up. This saves on needing a pulse, resulting in more compact item transport and less of that annoying ticking sound. Maybe instead of having a recipe similar to a hopper but with a dropper, the recipe could use a hopper and something like a water bucket, soul sand, and 2 redstone, lending to the gravity-defying nature of the item and making the item a bit more expensive.

    This would be great but you could make it a closed system that needs a hopper to feed into it rather than you directly as opening the bottom would make everything fall out seen as it's upside down and instead of needing it powered, how about it can only dispense upwards when it's items are full and adding one in pushes one upwards into another one or a different container such as a chest or regular hopper

    Being able to pull from storage upwards would add some simplicity for sure, and while I love it, I doubt they'll add it given the Redstone workarounds of droppers or a bubble elevator for items. I've played mods that add "uppers" and it does make things easier, though only necessary for a fish trap data pack I had where the trap couldn't be placed on a hopper to automate things (but I could pull from the top).

    I think also filtering should be more intuitive and increasing the range of hoppers via upgrades, would be good. As those two features limit my builds the most, filtering isn't an intuitive thing of whitelisting items, and as I play solo some redstone contraptions are too bulky for my needs where a hopper with more reach would suffice (increase the draw height by 1 more block).

    What if we could name a Hopper Minecart "Dinnerbone" or "Grumm" and it would work the same way?
    Also, what about a copper wrench made like this:
    C O C
    R C R
    O C O
    C=Copper
    R=Redstone Dust
    O=Open spot (Nothing)

    This would act somewhat like the Debug stuck so we can make hoppers and other redstone devices face in different directions. It would allow for Hoppers to be inverted without adding a new recipe.

    Make it so that you can change the direction of the hopper instead of a completely new crafting direction so you don't have to make a gazillion different hoppers for your survival mob farms.
