Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

I don't like it. Making a building look good is supposed to be difficult and requires planning. This would be a cheap fix that doesn't feel Minecraft-y at all to me.

I think wallpapers could be crafted from carpets and slimeballs, and go to ceilings too.

Could be crafted from paper and dye (and maybe slime balls)

Or maybe it would have Victorian Patterns. For the woodland mansions

    To craft 3 = 3paper (around) + 1 dye (center) + 1 slimball (bottom)

    Layers like snow, but vertically.

    Comes in all terracotta colors.

Place in a smoker for "glazed" terracotta textures.

Yes! This is literally what I was about to write! :D
I think the wall Paper should be made with paper and different dyes though. Gives paper more uses.
We need it in plain colors, but pattern wallpaper would be cool too.

I feel like using slime balls in the crafting recipe would get tedious though. Remember, We will want a whole lot of them to cover a inside of a house/building. One slime ball per block face would take a lot of time for what is a simple addition.

Wanted wallpaper for a long time. Or just the ability to place carpets on walls. It is about making this easier but it doesn’t actually change any of the in game challenges, it just invites more creativity

Wallpaper could be obtained by putting a texture in an item frame.  Textures would have the textures of there set block, but sit in item frames the way maps do.  They could be obtained in an alternate crafting table called a peeler that "peels" away the sides of a block giving you the 6 sides as seperate items (textures).

Wallpaper Could be stacked too, for designs

There have been so many times where I'm building and I say to myself "I wish there was wallpaper or something." Because when I make a house I want it to look homey and cozy, not all wood. I also understand that some people like the all-wood style, but adding wallpaper could open a new door to other decorating options.

I quite like this idea; I feel this would help a lot when building any type of building. For example, if you're building a house out of bricks, you probably wouldn't want bricks to show on the walls in the interior of the house and wallpaper would help a lot for that. Without wallpaper, you have to add another layer of blocks inside the house and not only does this make the house smaller, it also makes the window ledges annoyingly big.

Good point! Mojang has decided against stacking two different slabs in one block as map art can imitate this. Unfortunately, they are tedious as they require a lot of unnecessary construction and item frames. Additionally, they require locking to avoid ruining the texture after being made, or else the maps need to be destroyed. Last but not least, why not allow cartographers to sell custom wallpapers? (like those that imitate expensive blocks and quirky patterns)

been wanting this for a long time! the recipe should be 3 vertical paper and 3 clay balls, basically using the clay as if it was plaster. Clay balls are kinda obsolete due to villagers, so this is a good opportunity to make them useful again. 3 vertical honey or wax (always nice to give bees another use too) would also be cool.  Color variations could be different patterns like glazed terracotta, but more subtle and have a washed-out papery feel

Maybe you could make designs on it with banners!

I like this idea, plus maybe being able to place stuff on top of it, unlike carpet.

Love the idea! I've tried making map art for wallpaper but it was super time consuming and I gave up. The wool wallpaper could for redstone users by making rooms soundproof
