(Implementation idea) MINECON Live Capes

MINECON capes have always been a super cool perk to show that you attended the event, but now with MINECON Earth, it's harder to do that.

While the livestream is online, there should be a temporary link that people can go to. On that link, they must sign into their Minecraft account, click on a reCaptcha (to prevent bots), and then they can press a button to claim their cape.

BONUS IDEA:

During the livestream, instead of voting on what mob to add to the game, people could also vote on what cape design they would like!

    I like this idea. Sort of. Maybe give them 2 minutes total, or give them a cape for hosting a party.

    This is the best idea I've ever heard of. I myself always wanted a Minecon cape except I coun't and won't be able to assist to the event due to where I live (Minecon has always been too far away from me). Being able to get a cape through internet is what I was waiting for: I'd watch the event and get one as if I was there! They could also make it so you can purchase the cape for a short time, I'm sure lots of people would buy it (me included).

    Not to ruing your idea but that would lead to an overflow of players with the cape and it would end up being a crap cosmetic. I think that older players deserve to get capes

    I think capes becoming crap cosmetics isn’t going to happen because of this: 

    1. By far not every player watches the Minecon Earth livestream
    2. I rarely see any Minecon capes when I play on servers, this would probably then be 20-50 instead of 1 per 1000 players. 
    3. Also, a own unique OptiFine cape is a lot cooler. Those would still be very rare in the community, making them not being ”crap cosmetics”. 
    4. If you don’t like the current cape, you may not press that link.

    Voying out the cape would be really cool. Just maybe on the website before the Minecon Earth event takes place. 

    Also, Minecon Earth capes shouldn’t have a very detailed desing, but the Minecon one should.

    How about if it was an official skin on Minecraft, that way EVERYONE would get a cape. Or create a mod about it 😉.

    I mean, everyone wants a cape/cloak. I think if there's any way of making it accessible to users that really want it (if that is what mojang and/or the people on the minecraft team even want to do, seeing as they are currently so rare and carry a lot of weight) I can't really think of a better way to do it personally. Not to say this is the best or only way, but I do think that the vast majority of people who play and care about the game enough to deserve the cape/cloak are the ones dedicated so much that they block out time to watch minecon earth. But again, who knows if they even have intentions on ever doing any more cape/cloak "events".

    I would love this to be a thing. You are technically attending the event when you're watching it live and this would be much easier for people who can't go there either because of an injury or if it's a serious illness. I've always wondered what it would be like to have my Minecon Earth Cape in Minecraft.

    Honestly I feel as if they want capes to be rare and even though I think your idea would be cool it’s probably not going to happen unless they change their stance on capes. Personally I am hoping for a way to link your Mojang and Microsoft account so you can transfer your capes from java to bedrock.

    You should have a link (hidden) while big Minecraft events to buy limited number of capes.
    They have to use the capes for something...

    Maybe to make sure that you are watching the Livestream to get the cape, it won't be in the description or on Twitter, but rather in the video, so like in the top corner making it so you must watch the stream to get the cape. Also maybe keep it on screen for a total of 30 minutes. So maybe it goes like this...

    1. The user will manually have to enter the link. (So maybe a redsto.ne link?)
    2. The user logs in their Mojang account (may have to upgrade to Mojang account if they are still on a Minecraft Premium account)
    3. User fills out a reCaptcha (preventing bots)
    4. User has their cape!

    Hopefully, this works out because we all want them capes!

    maybe make the cape cost a dollar so that, because if im not mistaken, you had to pay to get in to the original Minecon to get a cape

    Ooh AND they could make a built in in game system so they can know you voted and give you a cape, also they could change the default layout of the background for the day of minecon, ALSO they could add a button in some menu for information- (oh wait... minectaft.net🙄) never mind

    They could also make capes that you get for physically being in the audience at the livestream.

    Amazing Idea! been playing minecraft for well over 8 years now and would love to see something like this possible now. Never got a chance to go to the original minecons because I was too young.

    I think anyone that has a Minecraft java account at the time of the livestream gets a cape.
