All swords are essentially the same with little information to see the difference between them. Players have the ability to tell swords and other tools apart only with what it is made of [wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond], if it is enchanted or not, and its name, which only the player using it could see. Other tools have the same problem. As a result, they lack individuality and severely limits the ability to personalize them. The main tools are always made with sticks and the resource it is being made of.
I propose that a tool’s durability, look, damage rate, hit speed, and efficiency can be altered by using different “ingredients.” I feel like the shaft or handle [which is normally sticks] can be replaced by blaze rods or other types of sticks, adding oak sticks, birch sticks, spruce sticks, etc. based on the wood used to create the sticks. This could affect the durability and attack speed of the tools.
Other Notes and Ideas:
- The look, damage, attack speed, and the efficiency of a tool could change as it loses durability, repairs, or mends.
- Anvils could be used to customize the tool using a mold, which could be traded for at villages or found in some village Blacksmiths.
