Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Obsidian Vein in Nether

Small veins of obsidian should generate in spots in the Nether.

Rationale:

- Breaks up the monotony and provides a landmark when exploring the Nether.

- Explains where obsidian found in nether fortress chests came from.

- Provides a potential method of escape when lost in the Nether.

    Mc Rat: Not sure if water is necessary for obsidian or just one possible route to get it... but I was mainly thinking of how you can find obsidian in nether fortress chests. How does it get there? Obsidian veins is one answer.

     

    I suppose, though, that nether invaders are stealing it from the overworld. Although that leaves open the question "how did nether invaders build a portal to the overworld?"
