    heres my idea (and i'm sure others have said this), what about ghost/ skeleton miners? zombie miners? when they die, sometimes they drop the same loot as the regular mobs (besides ghost, because that mob doesn't exist, but is close to the ghast), but may also drop a pick of some sort and/or a miner's helmet. the miner's helmet can be worn and will reduce damage of falling gravel and can give you a couple shank's time to get out of a lava pit. could be useful.

    I'm hoping that we do get a cave update, but I'm thinking we're going to get another combat update next, perhaps with new wepons and stuff due to the fletching table and smithing tables being useless as of now, but hopefully caves willbe fixed up in 1.16?

    I feel like they should add more ores of different colors. They will have unique mechanics. An example is ruby. It can be used to create decorative blocks and even for armor! :) Ruby armor would be one of the strongest kind of armor in the game. The armor would be red and you can swim in lava for 5 seconds if you have the full set. Another example is cobalt. It would work similarly to red stone but will have more power. These are my ideas for the cave update when it comes out. ;)

    I love this and I hope Mojang will make a cave update in Minecraft 1.15.I don't like the new combat mechanics in the 1.14 Combat test beacause they're awful

    Increase world depth. Bedrock comes too soon, and the world seems to have too little space. Make things vast, and create room to add more ores and new cave systems/ underground structures.

    Mojang, I got a great idea for a Cave Update is that we need Amethyst, Ruby, Labradorite, Kyanite, Sapphire, and Citrine. After that Mojang, can we please have where Bats could attack you and drop some useful items.

    We definitely need a cave update, maybe Cobalt can be added as both a reference and a new ore. Ruby can also make a come back in a different way since emeralds have their place already.

    I certainly agree that a cave update is due, but I also think that combat, mostly for java edition, needs updating as well. Seeing how combat isn't as big compared to a re-work to an entire world feature, it would most definitely be fitting to combine the two. I could see Mojang taking inspiration from the "Tinkers' Construct" mod by allowing you to use the fletching and smithing tables to forge new weapons with their own unique qualities (maybe new kinds of weapons, or maybe giving already existing ones new "traits," sort of like starting enchantments and/or new abilities). As for the combat, the current snapshot where you just hold the button in for melee weapons is easy. A ravager's loot can get ravaged in seconds! Perhaps they could add this functionality to a new, weaker weapon, like a katana for example, but keep the old functionality for a heavier weapon/tool, like axes, swords, etc. If you added different weapons with different "combat modes," you'd have a fighting style for everyone, which ropes in to the possible uses for the smithing table. With these major ideas for Minecraft alone of cave transformations and a combat rewrite, the next update for Minecraft would be revolutionary!

    What about some new underground structures with some loot in it? Or something like abandoned underground base, but not a mineshaft. Like bed and crafting table with a furnace next to chest with full of cave resources. I think caves doesn’t need so much of new stuff... just a little bit more of exploring.

    You could add things that were previously in a game but deleted later, like Ruby (worse than diamond but better than iron) and a helmet with a flashlight. Im the type of player that doesn't like going to the caves beacuse they are dark and scary, so what about ores that glow in darkness? (without touching them) Maybe you could add some more use to bats? It would also be nice to see refreshed version of spawner rooms. (one of them is basically a cobblestone box). The word "mine" is a part of a game so I think this update is really important

    I'm here to show my support for this update. Mojang developers and community engagement may believe not everyone wants this, but I believe it's important that anyone who supports an overhaul or special attention for caves in a major update needs to not just tweet it, but vote for it! We need to prove how important we feel it is!

    Great idea! Maybe not so much on mobs only in caves though but overall I think it will add a whole new aspect to the game.

    The part with mobs spawning only in caves sucks, because no on will light his base on the surface, because monsters will not spawn

    Ruby Armour, it's the same protection and damage as gold but stronger, this way diamonds are still the rarest and iconic

    I think the new ores with tools and armor would be a great addition. I agree with the biome specific caves very much. Please have 1.15 as the cave update

    We need new metals / gems. Weather they are decorative or combat useful. Some ideas I have for metals are copper, Titanium, zinc, and Tin. For gems Ruby, Garnet, Amber, citrine, Hiddenite, Verdelite, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Tanzanite, Onyx, Opal, Dravite, and Flint finally getting its own ore. Maybe in caves we can get glow worms that drop a goo like substance that lets you brew a potion of Haste. Also we could get vampires that drop a fang rarely that can craft a potion of nausea. It would be cool if their was a stone creature like the weeping angels from doctor who. Maybe also their could be underwater lakes with angler fishes and Axolotls. The axolotls could be a pet while the angler fish could drop a angler scale that could make a potion of hunting which would increase attack speed.

    Maybe diffrent sections of the undergound that require better and better picks to mine through the hardened stone. Also cave biomes(NOT BASED ON SURFACE BIOMES) new ores are nice but not necessary I'd  rather have new structures like traps, maybe even underground mining stations wher you can find "miner" villagers. Another thing is cave (and cave biome) specific mobs. One thing too is you could find special blocks to use to start a proper overworld boss fight.

    They should add a special ravine that holds the stone age villagers. Also make stone sticks that add durability to the item with it.

    They probably won’t add ruby because they choose emeralds instead but I think amethyst has a good shot at being added
