There could be radioactive ores that are really valuable but deal 2 hearts of damage when broken and inflict the poison 1 effect if you are in a five block radius of them.

Wow this is very good of a update but don't make the mobs ONLY SPAWN IN CAVES I feel like the outdoors might be too easy.

There should be more ore's such as copper which can be used to make machines that allow you to crush an ore into 2 ore dust (lets say its iron for example) you crush iron ore into 2 iron dust then put it into another machine that smelts it into 2 iron ingots. Other ores such as tin, aluminium, titanium, silver and cobalt would also be a good addition.

Some gems should be seen in these caves like sapphire and ruby which can be used to make tools and armour, emeralds should also be used to make tools and armour, amethyst, jade and opal. Some of which can be used as a lighting source, armour and tools, or perhaps they are only use for decoration.

Caves in the nether should contain ore aswell like nether gold ore, which will agro nearby mobs such as pigmen or the newly added piglins. I also think, nether ferrous (which would require you to have four of to make an iron ingot) would be quite interesting. Nether coal and other nether ores, maybe some of which that I previously mentioned, or perhaps ore that can only be obtained in the nether would be a very good way to make you want to go into the nether

Widen caves and maybe also give some reverb going on in caves? Those would be nice features.

More ores(I had to), gems and maybe some magic!

(ORE)  I think ores like Copper and Tin are cool but I think there should be Magical ores like Gigamith or Fragtium that could be used for magic staves or Enchanting Tables!

(GEM) Gems should be very rare and make Enchanting Boosters or Enchanting Table Fuel or Staff Power. The gems names should be matching to the ores like Gigastum or Frahum!

(MAGIC) Enchating and Magical Minerals Should Intertwine. Specal Enchanting Tables Make different books for different Minerals or Equipment. Magic Staves Should Do The Grindy Task Of Minecraft Like Destroy Stone in a 3x3 or Grow Crops but they have only so many charges then the gem disappears NOT THE STAFF! Gigamith and Gigastum should only combine with the Giga, No Giga with Frag!

    Here’s some more ideas:

Each “biome-dependent cave” should have a unique naturally generating structure. Okay, maybe not all of them, but most of them (e. G. Mesa’a unique mineshaft style)

Improve bats: Bats should be bigger, and should have multiple types (like parrots) based off of real-world bats. You should be able to make them trust you, and they will use their echolocation to warn you about unseen mobs!

Using the refinement system: here’s one example of what you could do with the new system like nether it’s has:

bejewlled armor:  two new ores, topaz and amythist, Craft 4 of each together to get a jewel stud. Combine these with your gold armor/tools to make gold armor/tools about as strong as iron, and have more durability! That’s just one idea of things the new system of armor-making/improvement could be used for

    Ideas:
    1. Steel
    - 3 coal + 1 Iron ingot
    - Is diamond tier but has iron durability
Used like normal iron for anvil, armor, and tools.

    2. Cave Dwellers
    - Spawn in underground mineshafts
    - Give them a banner
    - find others without banners and gives them one
    - Invites the dwellers to a group where they mine together
    - Beds = home
    - Chest = storage if near home (10 blocks)
    - 20 Hearts (40hp)
    - Lava resistant (take 50% less damage)
    - Chests with tools better than theirs they upgrade!

I think the caves just need an overhaul! They're nice currently, and sometimes breathtaking. but they need some new features, maybe a couple new mobs and/or stalactites and other things like that, make it a little more fun to go down there? and maybe a tiny bit more rewarding.

mojang is going to have to figure out the change of biomes at a y velocity, but it doesn't seem that hard.

Infinite world height like in cubic chunks mod would be awesome for this! It's definitely possible hence the mod's existence

Adding onto the idea of a Cave Update

    Hi !

The Idea of underground Villages or cities would be a cool feature and nice to see in Minecraft.

I think it would be neat if there were more ores and maybe more dungeons and things to really make caves more exciting

  • 1

    I totally agree
Making caves fun to explore with different biomes and ores like gemstones and more common everyday ores is really important because there may be iron diamonds and lava underground but there is no real incentive to explore caves when you have what you need.

Adding new items we can use such as armor and new ways to upgrade with these new ores/materials we find.

And finally mobs. Enemies that can make the game fun where they have special attacks and new ways of doing damage (they should be optional to fight) Incase people don't want to fight them.

    Ok

maybe cave could be more themed on the biome above for example an ice cave under an ice biome.

there could also be monsters only found in cave witch get stronger as you go deeper under ground for example evil golems

there should be underground cave villages which are a bit like mineshafts but not abandoned

I think that the armor system should be revamped, with new ore progression. BTW, this updates pretty much going to happen 1.16 caves and combat!

Add armour weight so some armours are heavier than others.

So leather would be the lightest.

Then good could be a heavier.

Then a light metal like aluminium that could be weaker than iron but lighter.

    Then iron armour.

Then a metal heavier than iron but stronger.

Then diamond could be next to make it better.

Then netherite could be a 0.5 difference in weight to make it still better then diamond.

I think that there should just be dungeons that are actually like entire levels that random generate. I think that they’ve proved they could do this before.

oh man I think I heard something about biomes being 3 dimensional now well at least in the nether in the current snapshots so it may or may not stay but if it does the over world could effectively use this for a robust cave update this would also allow for more materials to be made for what? I don't know exactly most would probably be for decoration rather than having a function like a new crafting bench or food source or new equipment tier ect. they could also make ocean caves more dangerous because right now mobs don't spawn in them from my experiences and it's super easy to just find a ocean ravine and go caving free of consequence because most ocean ravines have magma blocks at the bottom which can be easily harvested and used to breath underwater as long as you like you have the drowned maybe a skeleton or something new can spawn in oceans call them the sunken or whatever.

We absolutely need ores like copper and steel. Copper would be better than stone but not as good as iron. Steel would be better than iron but not as good as diamond. Copper may also be used as a block to carry redstone current through it, and through all other copper blocks that are touching it. This would give a conditional redstone block that travels through walls. Steel could be a block like obsidian, hard to break and doesn't blow up, but doesn't look crappy like obsidian does. Rare or hard to make, a little more common than diamond. Perhaps marble as a decorational block too.

Add Rubys and Safires! There more rare than emeralds and can be used for tools and gear

Ruby and Safires do the same amount of damage as each other 9+ attack power when a sword. Ruby tools would be red, while Safire tools would be blue.

only diamond and netherite pickaxes and mine the ore. Ruby armor would get better enchantments than Safire armor, while Safire tools get better enchantments than ruby tools! It would give both of the ores something unique about them!

I love this Idea, perhaps adding huge beautiful caverns with an underground race and villages if possible (dwarfs or gnomes) and some new types of ore too.

Podrían hacer que en las villas que hay herrero ahiga una mina por la que entren y salgan aldeanos mineros buscando sus propias esmeraldas y minerales raros que se podrían incrementar como por ejemplo cristales, cobre, etc.

I think there should by cave biomes. (warm, cold and others) each biome would spawn different ore on different levels. Also more stone variations to make bricks, tools and other materials. And a new career for villagers (the miner who collects and sells ores and stone variations

    • copper
    • ruby
    • titanium
    • steel

These would make new types of tools and armor too. (Maybe even stronger than netherite

    (sorry if I misspelled anything)

More minerals: I would love more types of ores added to a cave update, comparable to a real world equivalent. Ores that exist in a more recognizable geological places, like types of stone that pair with a certain mineral, like gold in quartz veins. Iron that exists in stone that is oxidized and stained a rusty red color. Nodules to be discovered inside of rock, like a Geode.

Cave biomes: Caves should have a verity of biomes, like lush, barren, crystal/cavern, ice, bio luminescence that are dry caves, or flooded and each have unique appearance with and eco system.

Ambiance: Caves should also have unique ambient sounds, music and fog.

Mobs: Also unique mobs would be nice, it could be more types of anthropoid mobs, but could be a mix of hostile/neutral/passive.

Loot: Caves can feature unique loot in chests, or some rare treasure hidden in the environment.
