Hi !
We spend a lot of times in caves in minecraft but they didn't get any new or exiting features since a long time, that's why I think a cave update is due !
Some ideas :
- Caves biomes of diferent types of caves depending on the biome it's generated into, for example : Ice caves, bats infested caves, lava caves, etc
- Stalagmite and Stalagtite in caves, should be blocky, maybe like cobblestone walls
- More mushroms in thsoe caves?
- Mobs spawning only in caves?
There is a lot that could be done so that just some ideas, also the nether is a big caves, so it could be updated at the same time !

how about stone spikes that fall from the roof of the cave?
I love this idea but mobs only spawning in caves? I think that’d be kinda boring in the over world.
I dont want to be looking around in boring caves without having almost any fun looking for diamonds

Make the world deeper and add more ores! This comment is a repeat of an update suggestion I saw on YouTube, but I'll paraphrase it here...
It's arguably too easy to find diamonds, and it would be compelling to have different ores that have similar durability or efficiency, while leaving diamonds as the ultimate ore. For example, titanium (a popularly suggested new ore) could possess a similar or identical efficiency to diamonds but lack a comparable durability (or vice versa). Deepening the world would also provide a greater context for diamond's rarity. Adding heat deep underground (that may require fire protection armor) or radiation that give damage to the player adds a necessary game risk that even peaceful mode cannot avoid.
I would love to see how caves and the underground of minecraft can be drastically improved. It will make the journey and the adventure of the game that much more of a compelling challenge.
No
i think introducing a new ore like titanium or tungsten in very little quantities (just above bedrock) with the ability to actually break through the bedrock (this new material would spawn in miniature veins of maby only one or two, meaning crafting a pick to break through the bedrock is quite a hard job. once through this layer however the rarity of this item decreases considerably so as too allow the player to craft stronger tools seeing as though mob strength will have upped, along with the need for stronger pickaxes due to the thicker, stronger and all round harder to break, substitute for stone below this layer, something harder than smooth stone but weaker than obsidian and renders any pickaxe lower than diamond [or well enchanted iron] useless)and enter a whole new set of cave systems with winding tunnels filled with unique mobs and different biomes along with all the other wonderful ideas everyone has come up with such as new ores (that only spawn under this first layer of bedrock), underground forests and pools, miner dwarves/villagers and little settlements for said mobs. i think this idea is suitable as it allows for the easy harvesting off everyday items found above bedrock (iron, coal, diamonds) via un-hindered stripmining whilst still adding the diversity in caves that is so urgently needed
they could also have new ores
An entire caves overhaul would be super beneficial to the game as a whole. Adding new types of ores and toolsets that act differently could be a really welcome edition.
For example, making a toolset that is as strong as diamonds, but slows you down more for using it. Because of this drawback it would be more common than them and spawn on a higher y level.
I agree, if this update isnt implamented it could seriously hurt the survival aspect of the game.
I agree with AquaBuzzardHR’s idea.
Yea I think this is amazing!
I don't know care about any new ores, I just want some pazaz in the caves. Just adding more ores could clutter up caves, maybe gems would be cool but like copper or steel might clutter the game and make it feel longer then it needs to be
The underworld should be 100 blocks deeper with more caves
And more mobs and bosses
Maybe even cave biomes like a glowing mushroom Biome
What about a new gem like a Ruby that was deleted it would be nice to see it back
Also some new mobs that only spawn in ice caves
I have some gems that might be good to implement into the game.
Amethysts, rubies, topaz, sapphire, and amber. That's all I have.
Edit: Also magic staffs made from gems that shoot projectiles that are more power full the rarer the gemstone used for it. created with two silver ingots, or iron ingots if silver ore isn't added in the update, and a gemstone.
Also supporting the titanium idea, there should be a place below the bedrock kind of like mincraft story mode S2 were a glowing mushroom biome can spawn at random. Else were, a barren wasteland. and as rare as a woodland mansion, a castle that has extremely good loot. In the mushroom biome there can be water and glowing mushroom villages. And in the wastelands, lava and burned down villages and a new burned like zombie (chance to be in zombie villager form) that spawns around the waste land and has a chance to inflict a burned effect that shows your hearts on fire taking 1hp away every second. Also a burned skeleton that shoots fire arrows. each mob has 25hp. in the castles/fortresses you find regular mobs there but with inmate clothing on. Some times the burned mobs can droop burned flesh for the zombies, and burned bones and arrows for skeletons. Burned arrows can be already lit when shot from a bow or cross bow.
Also, this may as well be it's own update. I have to many ideas
Here's a list of ores:
- Cobalt
- Titanium
- Tungsten
- Palladium
- Lead
- Adamant
- Copper
-
and Silver
I think stalactites should be made of calcium carbonate or something similar and little things like in biomes o'plenty
I hope this gets added to the game.
what do you mine
LETS ADD MINING HELMETS!
bio-lumenecent glowing blue/green plant or mushrooms would add a nice detail
