    How about unstable caves that cave in with a ton of falling blocks if mine the wrong ores or break the wrong blocks

    The Dwarf in me is in need of larger caves. I on average carve out ravines to roughly 30-40 blocks in width, this assuming I don't expand further in the process.

    Ontop of that, i'd quite like to see Crystal deposits in caverns. Something that can boost the light level around it. Maybe even cast light in specific directions so an array of Crystals could light a space or large cavern

    Have coper for power and difrent ores for difrent items like armor wepend or automatically storing items endless possibly and so meny items

    Idea List:

    1. Cave Cities, similar to overworld structures like desert temples/villages/woodland mansions

    2. Cave Biomes based on the overworld biome above you

    3. Cave Specific enemies, maybe like a fake ore that transforms into an actual mob

    4. New Ores, we really need more ores. Diamonds are easy to obtain by night 7 for me. I think a new ore or two that were very rare, or maybe even cave--biome specific ores?

    yes omg the saves have been the same forever. Very old and boring. Please update. We also need more stuff todo, You mine, get iron, diamond, obsidion, go into nether, get blase rods, kill enderman, stroghold, enderdragon, end city, thats it

    We need new mobs for caves and they will also go deeper maybe 50+ lower block limit where there are way better ores but near impossible mobs to get the loot and also kind of the design of mineshafts you would need support to keep up the walls and if you didnt the walls would cave in. The mob that im thinking of would be called the cave lurker and would be gray and tall like the enderman but but has his arms in the possition of a zombie, AND he has hair like gollum from lord of the rings and have a hunched back would do 4 hearts of damage with full iron armor but is a 2 shot with iron sword. And he doesnt do knockback so you dont get hit into lava. That could be just the start!

    Hi,

    i thought that a new stone variant would be very good for the game ( not a type of diorite for reasons....).  Also this is the most upvoted suggestion on Minecraft.net and IBXtoycat is going slowly insane. Mojang needs to address this... NOW!

    I just want to add onto this a bit.

    I was talking to someone and they gave the idea of reinforced tools for some addons in the Cave Update that could be difficult to mine or unable to mine with things like iron, gold and possibly even diamonds. They gave the idea of steel tools and I thought it would work well. To make steel a process called "oxygen steelmaking" produces steel, hence the name. In the process both carbon and iron are needed. So, in the Cave Update I think there should be a new ore (and many more) which would be carbon. Steel could be used for reinforced mining and make mining processes go speedier. There could even be a brand new block added for this "oxygen steelmaking", similar to the brewing stand or something. Mixing the carbon and iron together to create steel.

    In my opnion, carbon should be semi-rare so you can't get steel almost right off of the bat. 

     

    Maybe we could even get rubies back or give emeralds more of a purpose. Maybe even some sapphires or something. All things that have been suggested before.

     

    Anyways, that's just my idea. I didn't think it warranted an actual post so I just decided to make it a comment here.

    I really agree with this idea because caves are getting a little boring to explore. We seen mineshafts, ravines, and diamonds now, it’s time for more ores in game!

    Something I see being profitable for a Cave Update is moving the world generation, like 32 to 64 blocks upward. Sure, it doesn't seem like a lot, but take into consideration that the height limit is currently 256 blocks. Most biomes only use up to about 30% of that space - by adding a deeper underground, more of that space could be spent by feeding worlds with juicy, newly generated content.

    From a technical standpoint, I understand this being difficult. Temperature and sea level systems need to be tweaked, plus old worlds would be completely nonconvertible. If it could be figured out, that would be amazing!

    With the amount of comments everybody's writing, it'd take 4 years to add all the features. 2 if we're lucky, and assuming that they didn't work on the Nether Update at all.

    This has roughly 20,000 votes, almost 4 times more votes than the highest voted announced thing, Meerkats. In my opinion, something that highly requested, should be instantly approved. I see how it could be challenging, but there is no excuse, as you guys just made a 3D biome tool/AI/McGuffin that made 1.16 possible, and is what caused the cave update uproar in the first place. people are posting genuinely good ideas in the comments, and as separate posts. How about, as 1.17, we have:

     

    1.17: (Insert Cave-Themed Title Here)

    You guys announce a couple of biome, like andesite cave, and spider dens or something, and a few new naturally generated structures, then come up with a vote between 3 highly requested cave biomes, like the regular biome votes. From there, have the regular biome votes at every event, and a cave biome vote alongside it every other event.

    I feel like a good thing to add would be new materials, such as ruby and copper. Another thing would be ores that could spawn in the end. I've seen this in modpacks, and it would be great to see implemented in vanilla minecraft. Another idea would be mobs that spawn only underground.
