I think an Insomnia Meter should be added in the future in order to know how tired we are in Minecraft (this can be very useful to know when you think Phantoms will attack you from the sky). Realistically, we can feel how tired we are in the real world but there is no way to tell how tired you are in game.

I was under the impression that the game would keep track of Time Since Last Slept in the statistics, meaning a form of this idea is already in the game. Can anyone confirm?
That would be a somewhat out of the way place to look for information about how soon you are going to be attacked by a dangerous mob. Plus, if the statistics page exists in bedrock, I don’t know how to find it.
At the very least, I would suggest having an insomnia status effect appear once you have been awake too long so that you get more warning than being attacked. (If this already exists, I apologize. I am a bedrock player and so have not experienced the phantoms first hand)
Just checked; there is indeed a statistic in Java Edition that keeps track of how long it's been since you last slept. Perhaps parity in this area is the real question here?
I dislike the idea of a status effect because status effects have always affected that player, not another mob's spawning mechanics. So it would be an anomaly.
I honestly like the current way things are. From the gameplay I have seen, you will generally hear the phantoms' screeches several seconds before you are actually attacked. I feel that that is warning enough for anyone inattentive enough to go without sleep for that long :)
I already knew time slept since last sleep stats existed in Java. But for Bedrock thats a different story. I dont see an option like that on Bedrock edition. That can be a problem if we suggest someone logs on to their world the first time in a while. How will he know if he needs to sleep or not if he's far away from his bed.
I agree that a status effect is a little odd, but it is a named condition of the player that causes the phantoms to spawn, so in that context it makes sense. I also suggested the status effect as a minimum warning. If it's possible to have a countdown to insomnia somewhere easy to check and not too intrusive, that would be ideal.
As to the screech being ample warning, not everyone plays with sounds on. I have also witnessed multiple surprise phantom attacks on people playing in snapshots. Most of the time it's "what's that odd noise" followed by very quick death. It might be different once people are more experienced with the mobs and know what actions will and will not protect them, but they are still strong mobs that attack rather quickly once they appear.
On Minecraft Bedrock please add this feature because this would be helpful in knowing when we need to go to bed to prevent being attacked.
With this, the idea for COFFEE(Cocoa Tea) fits so much better!
This is a wonderful idea, but there are already a few other statistics that don't have meters, for example saturation and regional difficulty. Regional difficulty in particular can be found on the debug screen (F3).
A visual representation of this similar to when you're near a world border would be a good approach to this and could improve the gameplay a lot.
Because it is just annoying when you f.e. build a house or something, listen to some music (and maybe even have sounds disabled or made more silent) and suddenly you get attacked by a Phantom and fall down the building and maybe even die from fall damage (happened to me once). This is frustrating and a visual indicator on screen could, in fact, let you know that Phantoms could spawn and attack you and that you should sleep.
Also, Phantoms are more of an annoyance rather than an actual thread since you can clearly see how this is Mojang's first flying mob that respects collision other than... "other" mobs *cough* Enderdragon *cough*. Sorry Mojang, but the Phantom actually quite sucks.
This could be a great feature if it goes with phantoms. For example if your meter is too high you would start to see phantoms.
I like this idea as it can be exceptionaly difficult while playing on a realm or server and getting all players in a bed to sleep. The status affect is, in my opinion, not the best way to display this. As stated it is traditionally used to dislpay affects on the player. Yes I know, insomnia is a player specific affect. I think a great solution would be to have a phantom appear behind the player in your inventory GUI. The more visable the phantom is, the greater your insomnia. I also like the idea suggested for Coffee, we could really use this on a server and realm. Coffee could reduce your insomnia but not make it disapear completely. Also the Coffee would have limited affectiveness the more you consume until it become neccesary for you to sleep.
Pulling up a statistics page isn't practical for something like this. If you want to know the number of blocks you've walked, or the number of creepers you've slain, sure, but this is something with a practical gameplay application. I don't want to go into the escape screen every time I forget whether I've slept recently. I do agree with obv10u3 that it probably shouldn't be on the main HUD. It would be easy for that to get cluttered. The inventory screen would probably be fine, or maybe there could be another key you press to bring up additional measurements. For example, as long as you're holding "M," you can see your saturation, how long since you've slept, and... Various other stuff that I can't think of right now. XD
Players should be able to sleep at any time whenever this sleep meter is low. Sleeping would replenish this bar, and when it is full or when the player chooses they will wake up. This would allow the player to choose to skip certain times of the day. How tired the player is determines how much time can be skipped
