Mouse controls like PC for Pocket edition

I think you should access androids new 8.0 oreo Pointer capture feature, to make mouse and keyboard controls, on Minecraft pe, the same as PC. Where you don't have to click and drag to look around. Just move your mouse.

    It's simply a shame that the developers of MS are not able to implement a working mouse- and keyboard-control-interface. Well... I'm used to this! In the most recent version of Windows are still some setting-functions NOT available in the new setting-interface. You have to use "control.exe" to get access to these functions! It's unbelievable, but it looks like that MS has a development-team full of highly paid, but incompetent morons.

    Same. Just tried using my mouse with a tablet and was severely disappointed by not being able to look without holding click.

    I don’t agree, what if you go on a server... almost 100 percent of people will be on the normal controls with a mahoosive disadvantage!

    iPadOS has full mouse+keyboard now as well so both platforms are ready! Come on Mojang, do it!

    Currently there is a way for that to work. you can download Toolbox For Minecraft PE. Open Minecraft PE from the Toolbox with your mouse and keyboard connected. It will work just fine. BUTT... there is one problem to this. The Place Block/Use A.K.A Right Mouse Button, you need to rebind it somewhere else, cause the right mouse button binds to Back on most android (I'm using android 8.0). So if you have a gaming mouse, or any mouse that has a side button, you can bind it to that so it will be easier, if you don't have any side buttons on your mouse, you can bind it somewhere in your keyboard that your comfortable with, in this case I don't have side buttons so i bind it to 'F' key since its easy for me to get used to it.

     iPads can also use keyboard and mouse, so please give support for that.

    This is a really good feature to be implemented into the game, many can't afford a computer (Like me) and would really love to have that experience. Also it wouldn't be such a loss since many good players play on touch screen, so there might be a slight competitive advantage there. Furthermore, as said previously, the slight advantage is nothing compare to third-party apps actually working to provide Mouse feedback, known as "Toolbox for Mcpe". Thats not the only thing this app can do, it packs a punch, many switches to flying to automatic hitting players within an area, which that to me is a huge disadvantage to others. Implementing this feature will reduce many players from using the third-party app and continue using the official app instead.

    It's really weird because in settings it talks about button one, button 2, etc like on PC but the gameplay is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

    im really dying to have this since i want to play minecraft on memu or nox because i dont want to spend 30 dollars on windows 10 edition even though i already own java edition, please have this happen, im not willing to spend 30 dollars on windows 10 edition no thank you

    It has actually been possible to do this since Android 4. I've used apps that do it on Android 5 and 7. It's not exactly obvious how in older versions but it is only a few lines of code. The main trick is you need to trap the KeyPress and Motion events and use GetSource to test if it's a mouse before deciding whether you want to handle the events. Handling the key event is necessary for certain vendors like Samsung that remap the middle and right buttons to home and back. There's two separate motion event types that you have to handle depending on whether or not a button is pressed as well. The trick to simulating capture is to use the accessibility service to move the mouse pointer back to the center of the screen every time it moves. Hiding the pointer is a good idea when you do that but I believe you can only hide it in Android 7 and up.

    totslly agreed

    and its not imposible cause toolbox for minecraft is how i used to do it but they dont keep up to date 

    so it would be better to have it officially in the game

    or at least an option to pick from the 2 (even tho i dont thing anyone likes dragon controls for mcpe)

    I agree, because I'm a pocket edition player too and I've waiting for this from 5 years. And Windows 10 players are really stronger than us for multiplayer servers. Please Minecraft team don't make us sad.

    This is a great feature but having to drag your mouse to look around seems pointless making me just use touchscreen instead. I think the mouse mechanics should be like on PC. A good feature anyway.

    I have been stuck with mcpe for about 6 years now and about a year ago I started looking into pc options for a better gaming experience. I wanted a keyboard and mouse control so that I could play faster. PCs are pretty expensive, so I thought I would get a job in a year or so. A Keyboard and mouse option would be a way better option since it was so much more portable, cheaper, and controllable. If The team gets around to seeing this, please add this feature in the near future. Thank you for your consideration.

    We are now almost to the release of android 11, and since android 8 the operating system has allowed apps to use a mouse capture API. The fact this hasn't been implemented yet is incredibly frustrating and necessary for parity between windows 10 and android, as well as bedrock to java.

    I plugged in my mouse and keyboard to use with Minecraft PE fully expecting it to work as it does on PC Java Edition, but it is unusable in its current state. I would be very happy for this to be fixed.

    It's an honest too God damn shame that this has been going on for years with nothing done. People don't find out that they can't use mouse and keyboard properly until they actually... well USE IT because we're mislead to believe from the get go that we can due to settings for mouse and keyboard support sitting there in the settings menu. I especially only found out about all of this frustration only after purchasing the mouse and keyboard specifically to play mcpe. The fact that nothing has been done for the past several years in ridiculous and a massive turn off for many players that just want the damn thing inplemented.
