    Correction: Optifine smart leaves are actually not the same as Bedrock leaves. I assumed they were because I was testing individual leaves, and they looked similar. But when I used actual trees I realized that Optifine would make faces of leaves that were connected to other leaves transparent too, giving the tree a hollow look. In bedrock, if leaves are connected to other leaves from all directions they become a solid non-transparent block

    I actually like the bedrock leaves much better. It makes the trees look more dense and lifelike.

    I always thought this looked better on bedrock. Just because it's on java doesn't make it the "correct" way.
