Pet Dragons?

How about having a dragon of your own? in any sizes (dog size dragon or Ender dragon size) watching them grow from a baby hatchling to an adult, including with its own elemental powers, and where you have to find it specifically like; water dragons will be in the sea in temples, fire dragons at the volcanos or dungeons, earth dragons at the forests/jungle temples, nether dragons at the netherworld, cave dragons at the caves or abandoned mines, etc. they should also have the distinct color and design of their elemental powers.

    I don't think this should be implemented. It's not very Minecrafty. It doesn't seem like something that could be in the base game.

    I think you should find the eggs in special dragon nests and fight the mother to get it each dragon nest is themed to its element and once you bring the egg home you hatch it on a campfire to have your very own ridable dragon with its own unique strengths and weaknesses (based on element)that can fly, do damage, and have its own effects e.g fire dragon burns things, ice dragon freezes things ect.

    I have pretty much always been dragon obsessed, and I almost feel bad to kill the Ender dragon. If there were dragons you could tame, I would lose my mind! I imagine some are tough looking, while others are just straight up adorable! It would also make a ton difference for the PVP community. Maybe you can find a “Dragon Saddle” in a Pillager Outpost, or maybe in End Cities. Maybe they’ll be craftable with one saddle, four obsidian, and two iron. There are truly so many possibilities with this idea! Please consider this, Mojang! It would be really awesome.

    I've been dreaming about this elemental dragons since 2016, Hope that they might add these soon. Also The dragons must have some different body features like spikes and etc. depending on the surrounding or biome they spawn in.

    I don't agree with the idea of getting dragons from temples as they would be really op but I think it would be cool if you could hatch the Ender Dragon egg. However, if they would do that then I feel like they would need to make it harder to get into the end (like how the mod that adds all of the different types of eyes of ender) and they would need to make the Ender Dragon harder to defeat.

    They probably will add this in the future it might even bring lots of players back to minecraft but right now they wont probably add any more dragons anytime soon i they do it might only be baby young and adult because mojang wouldn't add to much complexity because minecraft isn't spoused to to complex its a game made of blocks and we all respect that its what makes minecraft a good game other games are very complex and hard to understand minecraft has so many downloads because it is the game that it is controls are easy and simple and mining and crafting the two things in the title are so easy to do but for good players you can up the difficulty to make it harder mojang isn't ready and probably wont be or a while to make a more complex mob the most complex mob is the ender dragon the final boss of the game as a game made of cubes it would be hard animating and hard to make it but mojang will add this feature just not now it has been 6 years since this was posted and as this comment is being written only 6000 votes so they will add this just not now.

    This would be cool but only if they were medium sized or horse sized dragons that only really offered arial transportation and defense against mobs, their bite strength should also be SLIGHTLY very VERY slightly stronger than the wolf so its not too OP but still serves a function, these dragons should only be found in the nether and they should be fire/lava resistant but not be able to spit fire and they should fly away if you get too close to them unless you crouch to give it a more natural but not OP feel

    Maybe the dragon egg was stolen and guarded in the ships (instead of elitras, that are like more than a dragon's wing, a dragon drop). And when you go to a ship, you found a egg, and if you hatch it, maybe need another things, hatch as your friend, like a flying dog.

    I don't think this idea would work. I have a few reasons:

    a) This sounds more like a mod than a feature. There are so many mods out there that have dragons. Minecraft has one dragon - and it's not friendly. Adding friendly dragons kind of ruins the game. It doesn't fit into Minecraft's world.
    b) Too overpowered. Seriously? A flying, ridable ally that breathes fire and helps you?
    c) The dragon egg shouldn't hatch into a pet; it's a trophy. It has no use; it sits in your base, looks cool, and tells everyone "I beat the game!' That's what it's for.
    d) I know this post is from 7 years ago, but the upcoming summer game drop introduces flying, ridable mobs: the Happy Ghast. Do we really need two ridable mobs that can fly?

    Maybe it could act as a kind of shield. It would block some arrows coming at you. To me, that sounds like a good, not op, battle function for them. I would like it more for a raising a pet function...
