This would be an interesting add-on concept, but it doesn't seem like something that would suit the vanilla game well. I'd love to see developers mining this forum for ideas just like this.

It seems to me like a better base idea for a new dimension than a new biome.  The current two extra dimensions are very forbidding and stark.  A new dimension that is a beautiful and lush, but dangerous magical land would be very cool.

and maybe we can finally have giants/cyclops maybe. just one or two per world because their going extinct and they can appear in this magic biome including other magical creatures. sorry if this isn't what you want minecraft.

I think this is a good idea but rather then a base vanilla biome why not have it as a new dimension with it's own boss and everything new blocks new npcs new races so those who what a fantasy style game can do so and those who dont well they dont need to worry I've seen people asking for the ruby block to be added back to the game why not do so and have it be and emerald portal with a ruby block keystone to ignite the portal, add fairies, elves, orks, dwarves even trolls would be cool to see there would be no limits as dwarves could open the door to a whole set of fantasy steam punk style items such as blast furnaces and basic fire arms where as orks and goblins could add spears and palisades, elves could offer special types of bows or polyarms

Maybe there should also be lakes with mermaids in them since they are magical creatures too. Also the mermaids and Mermen should be aloud to grow feet at night and the females should have purple tails, blue tails, pink tails, and red tails. and the purple mermaids should have long black hair, the blue mermaids should be dark skinned and have brown hair, the pink mermaids should be blonde, and the red mermaids have red hair. The mermen's colors are green ,grey, orange, and yellow. They green merman has short brown hair and is dark skinned , the grey merman would have black hair , the orange merman would have red hair , and the yellow merman would have blonde hair.   Also if you give a mermaid or merman an emerald they will give you a tail of their color .the tail would give you water breathing powers and give you +speed and strength.

Hey all! Check this out if you like the idea above.

It might help drive the conversation about this post's topic. I was feeling inspired and went to flesh out a cool idea for the biome, then realized that it would make a really neat dimension because it wouldn't quite feel right as a biome. There isn't much in the fantastical biome sense for vanilla overworld Minecraft.

Awesome idea. Eventually, when you have explored the 2 extra dimensions for a long time, you want something new. I hope it gets added. Good luck with your idea, you may want to write Mojang a letter...

I like the idea of a mystical forest with a fantasy feel. After all, we have fantasy mobs and dimensions that define Minecraft among games, so why not biomes too! It would be the ideal location for a new kind of tree with an unnatural color of wood (like a bluish green for example). It could be a rarer biome like jungle, and as for looks, I can see a bluish grass and leaf colors for plants growing in the biome, as well as some new opportunities for structures using some fantasy themed blocks. This would give minecraft some more variety, and make it feel more unique when compared to other games with a similar genre.

I don't think the new gems will make the cut unless the next update is a cave update though...

The topic of Giant tree's are interesting. What about a mob to protect these giant trees? >>> https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360047959011-Lumbedoer-Inhabitant-and-protector-of-the-Giant-Trees-

I was thinking more of blue or purple trees and magical water. Like the water of healing. It could be a rare biome. The trees could be the same height and width of dark oak and the leaves actually be colored(when you shear them) instead of turning green. Fairies could be a thing, but they should be capturable so that when you have them on you in your inventory, you could fly. The fairies can be blue, purple, even pink or green.
I think it'd be an interesting add to minecraft to explore fantasy magic.
