Adding my support to this, as well. Not being able to share DLC among family accounts makes very little sense and has me conflicted as to the best way to setup my son for future play (share one Xbox live account vs. parent/child accounts). It certainly makes me less likely to buy any DLC.

Agreed; this is a TERRIBLE customer experience. My own 4 kids will not be getting Minecoins, etc for their new Xbox until purchases are shareable.

adding my voice too... i think that the handling of the DLC is quite poor. my son got the xbox minecraft bundle for xmas, and wasn't able to install any of the DLC on his account; it had to be done through MY account.

now - i understand that purchases are protected for minors, (if you've enabled that option), but i fail to see how free content, (for MINECRAFT, of all things), wouldn't be automatically approved somehow, or at least have a lower age-rating.

my son just wanted to play using new skins, and can't do so; not a very useful gift, is it?

lastly - i support the idea of things like Mash-up packs, skins, and other Minecraft DLC should be automatically shared across family devices... every other software platform seems to do that without an issue.

Just adding another to this list... bought the xbox one creator bundle for kids, and I'm the only one with access to the extra content. I don't even play minecraft... it was for them. There needs to be a way to share the content within a family.

Agreed. This comes across as extremely greedy and not viable for families. I don't think it's too much to ask to allow for the DLC here to be shared amongst families using their Xboxes considering this is exactly how it used to work and we're all being forced into the new Bedrock edition. One of the best family features of the XBox is GameSharing. Why can't we GameShare Minecraft DLC? I don't play Minecraft much, but both of my kids do all of the time. I'm not about to spend a dime buying the same content packs multiple times for my kids.

Looks like this happened to us, too! What a bummer. I even checked before redeeming the Minecraft bundle codes on the parent account versus the child account because we are new to gaming systems, and there was some wording on possibly the Xbox support site about using the adult account due to permissions on child accounts. I hope there will be a way to transfer or share!

Absolutely disappointed! It’s ridiculous that parent buy game for kids with extra addons which they can’t access.

Shame on you MS & Mojang.

Agreed. Microsoft acquired Mojang to help sell expensive hardware and gain market share, but now it chooses a business model that nickel-and-dimes its customer base. The Minecraft revenue stream continues through selling Packs, Skins, Worlds, etc, but a single purchase should suffice. Let families with 1 console share purchases across parent and child accounts. That decision would help grow the entire ecosystem instead of generating such backlash among loyal users. The whole "Better Together" mantra seems ridiculous. Quite frankly, Microsoft should be ashamed of how little regard they have for their customers. They are unequivocally the best company at providing the worst support.

This is ridiculous. We purchased the Xbox One S Minecraft bundle for Christmas. My kids have been playing Minecraft on iPads and our AppleTV for years. Now they can’t get to any of their old content because they have to log in with my MS account to get any of the coins or content packs. This is a huge oversight on MS part. I’m seeing it reported as a “Mojang issue” but that’s BS since MS bought Mojang. False advertising for sure.

I've had the same problem as everyone here, bought bundle, set up account all around and I have content locked to my account because of how age, 9 months and it won't be an issue, but then I can't move any of the packs so, poor insite if you ask me.

If I had known that my children would not be able to access the content I bought for them I would not have purchased it. I want to know if there is some way to transfer the content I purchased to there accounts so they can use it. The ones I bought were for them based on how they like to play. If I can't transfer the content so they can use it then I should be refunded my money.  I agree that families should be able to share any and all content purchased without having to buy for each account.

Quite disappointed to come across this forum as I too just fell into this trap. Bought the Minecraft bundle for my son and all the content is on my acct but not his. I don’t play Minecraft... it was for him. Why it’s not shareable among those within the same family on a home console is beyond me. I will not purchase anything going forward... fix it first otherwise you get no more money from this mom.

Adding my voice here. I am military and being sent out west on a course. My daughter and I have shared a Minecraft game since Minecraft existed. Now I have paid for realms so we can still play together but I had to create a new Xbox account for her. Now she does not have access to any of the DLC. We have to choose between playing the game at the same time (which we pay for) or having access to the content library we paid for.

This is just completely ridiculous and horrible. We went out and bought what we thought was the "latest Minecraft", Xbox One Edition (it looked much better compared to the previous PC Java version). Only to find out that, Mojang was rolling out a ROFL Stomp ALL4ONE version of their game across ALL Devices... Several Skin/Texture packs that were included in our Xbox One Edition did not transfer over.... On the Xbox One Edition, Child accounts had access to the Skin/Texture packs where as on this New version of Minecraft they do not... Currently the Main Upset is that I no longer have my City Texture pack and my kids can not play with packs without me being logged in at the same time... Isn't going forward supposed to improve upon the previous versions?

YES! At the very least, add-ons purchased by a parent account on an XBox console (such as the add-ons that are part of the XBox One S Minecraft Bundle) MUST be available to the child accounts on that console.

My kids are unable to access any of the resource packs which I installed on my account on the assumption that it would all be shared with my family members. I will not be buying anymore Minecraft content until this is resolved.

YES!!!! all the profiles on your personal Xbox system should have access to the DLC !!!! I bought it all on the parent account but now my son can't use it unless he's signed in under me..... thats some bullcrap! Make it availabe to the whole family!!!

I completely agree with this it so crazy to have to buy the same games multiple times just so each kid can play. Just makes us purchase less then we would.

Ditto to the above. I own the game (parent) kids can play fine on their own account. Now when I purchased packs, they do not have access. I would never by the same pack again and again to cover all kids. They should at least have a 'family' price if not free to all family members.

Same problem. Bought the minecraft xbox as xmas gift for the boys. Setup the family restrictions and redeemed the packs. Now the kids can't access the packs since they're tied to my parent account. I thought it would be shared for the family.

Same problem, minecraft updated, new version I guess. All of a sudden my son is the only one who had access to any download content. My other kids don't even want to play without their skins... they all play on the same console? Why should I have to purchase each skin pack 3 times for the same device? That's crazy

its extremely annoying that ive been playing Minecraft since it came out on pc, i spent a ton of time on 360 and xbox one. gave it a break after the better together update came out, started playing alot again starting last month but i go in to use my Spider-Man skin pack and noticed thats gone. as well as my Skyrim, avengers, mass effect, skin pack 1-3, and multiple texture packs. thats more money than i spent on this game to begin with gone... kind of annoying i cant use my old skins because i had to restart all my xbox progress a few years ago because i got locked out of my old account. i managed to gameshare after finally getting back in after months of trying but i had already made alot of progress in other games with my new account. And it was fine because i game shared my old account to my Xbox so i could use all the dlc on my new account but since the better together update, still cant use my Spider-Man skins or anything..

i got hit by this issue, too. 2 kids really want to play the dlc from the collection we bought over the holidays.

I bought the xbox one S Minecraft bundle for my kids. It includes several add-on packs that I downloaded. I don't play the game, and my kids can't access these add-ons. I thought there must be something I need to configure to give them access but then I found this forum.

I share the outrage at this giant con. The game is playable by anyone on the console, so why not the add-ons too? This is a broken model that needs to get sorted.

Also disappointed (but not really surprised) by the lack of any comment on this from MS or Mojang on this obvious fault on their part.

I agree it should be shareable. In the meantime, all you need to do is let your kids play under your gamertag.Maybe they will earn you some achievements!

How extremely disappointing and ridiculous is it that a Minecraft Edition Xbox One S console that I got for my kids that comes with the game and extra skin/texture packs, etc allows only the game to be used by my kids?  I do not play Minecraft, but since I redeemed the codes, only I have access to the skin packs, etc.  Like many others stated in the comments, I am in no way going to be buying separate versions for each kid.  And on principle, I don't even want to buy each kid their most-desired one.  If skin/texture packs used to be shared in the Xbox One edition, why on earth would that be taken away with a "Better Together Update"?

It's absolutely ridiculous that content cannot be share. I'm so frustrated by this and won't be buying any more content until this is resolved. Amazon, Netflix, Apple all let you share content purchased ONCE! Come on Microsoft you are better than this.

I agree fully.  We are new to minecraft and have only bought one dlc so far but I was unhappy to see that my son could not play it on his account and that I either had to buy it again for his account or have him logged on as me.  I would love for him to be able to play it on his account but I am NOT going to buy it a second time.
