Charged Creepers

Charged Creepers are an interesting concept, but that's all they are. An interesting concept. They hardly even exist outside of creative mode so much to the point that they're more of a mythical legend rather than a rarer yet deadlier threat. So why not change how they spawn? Instead of having to be striked by lightning, chagred creepers have a small chance of naturally spawning in place of regular creepers when there is a thunderstorm. That way, they aren't so much of an urban legend rather than an actual feature. Creepers can still turn into a charged creeper via lightning strike.

    Good points, but they are partially addressed already in the upcoming 1.13 update. If you enchant a trident with Channeling and hit a creeper with it during a thunderstorm, it will turn into a charged creeper. Now, I know that that wouldn't give the same feeling as encountering one in the wild, but admit it, it's at least as dangerous for anyone foolhardy enough to try and wrangle charged creepers like that XD 

    I honestly am fine either way on this one but I still gave you my vote because it is a neat idea.

    I have been playing since 1.7.10 and I have only ever seen one naturally spawning charged creeper, so I have to agree that they are way too rare. Maybe instead of relying on RNG charged creepers could function as an event mob like skeleton horses, with special creepers spawning that are coded to be struck by lightning after some time. They could also spawn more often depending on the difficulty, like zombies converting villagers, on easy charged creepers wouldn't spawn, but on hard they would spawn often enough to be considered a threat

    yeah, a chicken jockey in the nether is more common than a charged creeper (i actually came across those)
