Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Love this idea! Another use for them could be shelling them with shears and then you’d get oyster meat!

Oysters could be like Shulkers where they act a bit like a block. They would be the size of a slab or a block and open up like chests.

There wouldn't be much use for it now, but it could be used for waterproof chests

Maybe the pearls could be used to trade with villagers or they could be crafted with a block from the end to turn them into ender pearls. And maybe the oysters could have meat inside that would be edible too, adding more food options to the game. Also, oysters should be fishable, making them easier to get.

Maybe pearls could have a very low chance of appearing inside an oyster and somehow be crafted to make a heart of the sea.

Oysters can also be added to mangroves, possibly by the roots when near water!

If Mojang doesn't want real animals in the game, Musters could be a good fake name to use.

Mussels + oysters = you can call their reef zone a Mustering Area.

Instead of creating light, they reduce the effects of lighting fog or whatever else is causing the underwater to be so vision restricted. As long as they improve visibility underwater I'm sold.
