Proposal: When bred by a player or hatched from eggs, mobs have a 1/3 chance to spawn with their variant based on the biome they we bred/hatched in and a 1/3 chance to spawn based on the biome of each parent (2/3 chance to spawn based on the biome of the egg).
Why? According to the spring to life changelog, "When bred by a player, a baby variant will not be chosen by the current biome, but instead randomly selected from one of the parents' variants". This makes it so that worlds from old version must venture into new biomes to get the new mob variants, because of how slow natural mob generation is. This is especially a problem on large, old multiplayer servers, as most or all of the chunks have already been generated and new passive mobs will rarely (or never) spawn)
