Ability to leash minecarts together like boats.

With the recent changes to leash mechanics, it feels like a no-brainer to add the ability to leash minecarts together like with boats and other mobs. This would be great for transit systems as it would allow players to only use one train of minecarts instead of many individual ones, preventing collusions that would send multiple in different directions. In java this would also make the minecart with furnace more reliable, as one would not need one on each end of a line of minecarts, instead only needing one. In niche systems, this could also reduce the ammount of powered rails required to have multiple parralel tracks, as one could chain the parralel minecarts to one another.

    I do believe that this would be a great addition to the Minecart System. This would help transport many more items together rather than apart in an unorganized group.

    Using chains would be better and more realistic, since a rope would break if a minecart goes too fast.

    But it's a GOOD idea, I've always wondered about this: going with your friends on a TRAIN, just think about it! Making a roller coaster is also one of my ideas, but I couldn't use it because of the situation with not being able to connect minecarts.

    I love this idea, but could we also get furnace minecarts in bedrock edition? Having functional trains in both versions would be great, as well as resource saving, because the gold required for powered rails in just plain annoying, and the powered rails look ugly

    This would be cool for like a train system especially if you were in the mines and you could maybe even have a minecart with furnace to make it more realistic

    Need this! I agree that the distance should be like 0.5 blocks, with chains. WE NEED THIS!!! Once you add this, add furnace mincarts to bedrock, give them a proper UI, and (mabye) even add a speed controller!!!

    Mojang, if it were possible for you to do and is in your reach to do so, please reuse furnace minecarts alongside this idea. Though it is a better idea to make chains as the medium to connect all the carts together. By this, chains will now have a greater purpose and will serve greatly for the community.

    It would also serve as a tool for making adventures much more fun and engaging as by using this, it would make it easier for player to transfer their items and would make it less of a hassle to make a repeating back-to-back route just for transferring items. This would cause the journey to be pale.

    It would also serve as a balance in travelling method ON LAND. With decent speed and decent storage capacity, it would be a game changing feature.

    YES WE NEED THIS MOJANG WE NEED THIS!! I think chains are a better idea bc i dont even use chains for anything, but this I would. And then it’s easier to transport materials. Just imagine sharing a world with friends where they live so far away but youre connected by railroad and they need something you have and they need a very very large quantity and you need to send them materials…or like youre transporting cattle! SERIOUSLY ADD THIS. NOW.
