Ability to leash minecarts together like boats.

With the recent changes to leash mechanics, it feels like a no-brainer to add the ability to leash minecarts together like with boats and other mobs. This would be great for transit systems as it would allow players to only use one train of minecarts instead of many individual ones, preventing collusions that would send multiple in different directions. In java this would also make the minecart with furnace more reliable, as one would not need one on each end of a line of minecarts, instead only needing one. In niche systems, this could also reduce the ammount of powered rails required to have multiple parralel tracks, as one could chain the parralel minecarts to one another.

    This would be incredible, and you would finally be able to create long trains like we've always wanted!! And it would make furnace minecarts so useful!!!! PLEASE!

    Just this one singular change would rejuvenate one of the oldest features in minecraft that has been relegated to nothing but niche gimmicks and redstone applications. Supply Chain management could change forever if mojang would only allow.

    It was shown with leashing happy ghasts that the leash length could be variable (ie: shorter or longer depending on what is leashed), which could be used to make minecart leashes only about 0.5 - 1 blocks long, to make them more functional as "trains"

    I agree with the person above who suggested chains being used for this. Leads are very bouncy and I can imagine minecarts bumping into each other and bouncing back and forth with leads. Chains could hook minecarts together but keep them at a fixed distance apart. Chains also make sense material wise.

    Mojang,yes i kone that we has beeen mad at bedrock,BUT CON WE AT LEAST ADD THE ABILITY TO LEASH MINECARFTS PIS

    Happy Ghasts are one of Mojang's best ideas. If boats can be tied to them, why not minecarts?

    The leash mechanic needs to be possible for minecarts as:

    It would give more usefulness for the furnace minecart.

    Increase creativity for roller-coaster (a long time fav for Minecraft builders).

    Help equalise the transport system (make the minecart equal the the elytra and stuff).

    i think instead of ropes they should use chains to connect minecarts, like the double bucket of the movie, and furnace minecarts should be able to just pull like 3 or 4 other minecarts, so you can use those chest minecarts of mineshafts

    Yes please Mojang we need this, passenger trains to transport players and villagers and other mobs to places near and far, also freight trains to transport all kinds of items across our Minecraft worlds! This will make rails so cool again. Please I beg make this possible! Adding to this Minecarts with a furnace will now be so useful and will now be able to act as a locomotive pulling a train of other minecarts from one place to another, also if you do wish to add this feature please consider adding the minecart with a furnace to bedrock so everyone on all platforms can have fun with this really cool feature!

    Oh yes, we totally need those dude. It would be helpful when you put the items into your chest cart while it attached to you cart, seriously, would be good for Minecraft to add those.
