I love playing Minecraft with KeepInventory on, but I don't want death to go unpunished. So some expanded death-related game rules would make me think twice about jumping off of a cliff to get home faster. I think maybe even a selectable range of items that drop when you die could be quite interesting. Just something to further personalise game rules would be nice. I sometimes just want to be able to lose my items and then not lose my experience - which would make sense to me cause you don't really lose knowledge when you die (in video games).
