Hi,
I get that over the years, there were different philosophies of adding new items into Minecraft. From my point of view, it is a constant tug between function and decoration.
That being said, I would love for metals to get the "wood treatment" and fill in some logical gaps.
Tools, Armor, Block, Stair, Halfblock, Door, Trapdoor, Pressure Plate, Button, Bars, Shield.
If we can create it from one type of metal, we should be able to craft it from others as well (Bars and Shield being optional, but would make sense).
Copper Tools & Armor: I really like copper. It has the potential to be the perfect early game material for its abundance. Sort of like old-time iron, now that the Y has been expanded and ore generation tweaked.
Block, Halfblock, Stair: I might be pushing, but copper can be chiseled. Why not gold and iron too? It's not like we have an abundance of white/gold colored blocks for building.
Door, Trapdoor: We have copper and iron. Why not gold? Also, please unify the recipe for metal trapdoors.
Pressure Plate, Button: #makecopperuseful Say copper pressure plate detects only players? Or acts as a stone one but produces more signal? Also, please add metal buttons. 1 button for 1 nugget (+ copper nuggets).
Bars, Shield: It is purely for decoration, and would require unifying the trapdoor recipe, but the rule of cool is a thing. Golden bars? Weathered copper bars? Cool. Golden shield trim? Very nice.
