Quartz tools - mob hunting utilities

With Minecraft adding new additions to the Ghast, why not also try expanding on another side of the Nether: Quartz. There are many dangers waiting to be unleashed in the dimension, so to stand toe to toe, quartz could be used to craft certain utility weapons.

[Harpoon]

Crafted with 3 quartz in a line formation and 2 iron nuggets, you can craft a harpoon, which like fireworks can be merged with another item we already have: Chains. The Harpoon deals 4 damage and can be thrown for up to 16 blocks, which is also the max amount of chains you can store. When used on a mob, the Harpoon latches onto them and can be right clicked again to pull them in (perfect to fight Ghasts, Crossbow wielding Piglins, or Blazes), and when a mob is slain, you'll instead pull in their loot and EXP automatically.

With 5 pieces of quartz, a throwing cross can be crafted, which can also be thrown horizontally to deal 3 damage within a length of 5 blocks, levitating in the air for 3 seconds before returning to the user. During these 3 seconds, the thrower can jump onto the item as a platform or deflect projectiles until it decides to come back like a boomerang. If it hits a mob within a small group, it will ricochet off a few mobs before returning to the user.

Both Cross and harpoon have the same durability as iron tools, and could be repaired with quartz.
