Make the texture of the new Ghast 16x16 pixels

I think that the texture of the new Ghast is driven from the style of the old Ghast model. So if you make the texture less pixels, the new Ghast will be more familiar and more associated with Ghast himself.

  Nah, its better with more pixels. The 32x32 texture allows it to be more smooth and subtly detailed. If you think about it, the normal ghast is one of the largest mob, but has less pixels than the wither, which is half its size. While the old texture is nostalgic, the new one is simply better and more consistant with literally every other mob.

  no it needs less pixels. the game is a simple sandbox, there is no need for HD graphics like these.
