Wood variants for utility blocks

We have different variants of wood. Planks, logs in oak, mangrove, birch, etc. 

But what if those variants for wood was on different wood blocks.

For example,

Chests could have birch chests, dark oak chests, and others

The under side of beds, dark oak, birch and others

i just think it would be a cool way to add more wood variants for blocks made of wood. 

(Also I think a Green Wood block would be cool)
