Snowing in Snow Biomes & Lighting + Melting

I'm addressing the problem in snow and how it melts by light sources in snow biomes.
The problem is; I want snow everywhere but torches or any light makes it look terrible, but need lighting so mobs don't spawn.

As small of a detail it is, it shouldn't be overlooked, It's as if Minecraft doesn't play it's own game. Solution?; Literally any block possible that emits light and doesn't melt snow is acceptable,
which is all I ask, the little details matter.
