Before the release of Minecraft 1.21, there were many complaints surrounding Pre-Release 4's nerfs to the Fire and Blast Protection enchantments. Mojang listened to the community's feedback on this issue, and ended up reverting most of these changes, with the exception of the recent change that allowed these enchantment bonuses to "stack".
This creates somewhat of an issue for Blast Protection, as each piece already reduced your explosion knockback by 60% - Meaning if you wear two pieces, you will take 0 Blast Knockback. This issue was inevitably going to be drowned out by the previous controversy that had just happened regarding the enchantment nerfs - however, in seeing all of the good changes that Mojang has been willing to make for the next update, I have faith that it might be the right time to petition for a resolution here.
Receiving 0 knockback from blasts is a disproportionately double-edged sword. You have more mobility, but you also remain closer to the explosion's source since you aren't being pushed away from it. This is especially noticeable when being repeatedly damaged by explosions, and it makes gameplay much less intuitive. It has left many players in the Survival/PvP Communities feeling frustrated due to the negative gameplay impact it has in these modes.
In the changelog for Release Candidate 1.21, Mojang has specified that they expect to rebalance these enchantments in the future - please, now is the time!
