When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

touching current designs could have very big backlash as it would rework the entire redstone system

No it is not recommended and not needed to replace the redstone system - this suggestion seems to stem from the misunderstanding that redstone power is based on electricity. There's a real possibility that Redstone instead is based of concept of radioactivity - low levels of background radiation on it's own, in concentrated forms produces enough radiation that it radiates to nearby stuff - it's not to say that said radioactivity is not later converted to electricity or something else by individual components.
Moreso, proposed new components do not really fit vanilla Minecraft's style.

Above all, you're trying to apply real world logic and physics to a game where nearly all matter can levitate, where gravity does not make sense, where pistons can without any slowing move massive amounts of mass by 1m in 0.1 seconds and then stop them with no acceleration, just a constant speed.
Who ever said that Redstone is trying to adhere to electricity and other irl stuff?

Sorry if this comment sounds angry or something, but it's just that this kind of suggestion has already been suggested many, many times - and those suggestions do not take off that well for many reasons.

I agree with the above comments. This would not work. And what do you suggest using redstone for then? The reason it was added was to create circuits and contraptions, and if it's completely changed, it has no real use other than brewing.
