I think a good feature to be added to Minecraft would be a new brewable potion called the potion of memory. It would be brewed by brewing an eye of ender into an awkward potion. The potion would make it so that if you drank it and then picked up items you lost when you died, the items would automatically be put back into the inventory (or armor) slots that they were in before you died. If you picked up new items before you recovered your old ones you would be able to keep them permanently unless the items that you just picked up and the old ones that you recovered outnumber your inventory slots. If this were to occur your old items would be given priority and any new items that you got along the way would be thrown out. If you can afford to keep some new items but not all of them the most common items would be thrown out and the rarer ones would be kept. If all items were of similar rarity the items kept would be decided alphabetically with items closer to the start of the alphabet being given priority over ones towards the end of the alphabet. This potion would help in situations where you died in a place with a ton of mobs or other dangers and you don't have time to re-sort your inventory before the mobs attack you.
