So, by now we've all seen the new spawn egg textures. I think overall, this is a great change for colorblind folks. (and also people in general who cant be bothered to try and learn the color scheme of every old egg.) However, in execution I have a few critiques on how the textures could be done better.
- The larger eggs, (cows, horses, blazes, etc) touch the edges of the inventory box, making them appear crowded/claustrophobic feeling. This also goes for some of the eggs that have ears/wings (Vex/Allay, Axolotl, goat, rabbit, etc) I think an example of an egg that does have extremities but looks really good in the inventory UI is the wolf, and polar bear eggs. They very clearly have their ears, but they aren't touching the very edges of the box.
- The pool of water for underwater mobs under their spawn eggs not only has the issue listed above for all of them, but also feels unnecessary, sacrificing the egg silhouette. If it's clear enough that the egg is supposed to be a fish or dolphin, etc. why would I also need to be told they should be put underwater?
That's it. I really hope to see these changed and improved, as overall this is a very nice change for the game.
