Spawn eggs, for certain mobs whose variants are biome based, should have their textures model after the mob variant that will be spawned; when the player is within the biome in question.
This would apply to: chickens, pigs, cows, wolves, foxes, axolotls, and frogs.
There could also be an interface selection to set specific charateristics of all mobs with variants, which could be changed by using a lectern. Each mob would have its own selection for variant options.
The factors that are customizable include: age type(many mobs have baby variants; example: baby zombie), size type (example: salmon or slime), model type (example: tropical fish), color (example: axolotls and horses), pattern (example: horses), profession type (example: villagers)
This would help players who don't know how to use summon commands and how to get a specific variation. It would also help getting specific tropical fish variants for aquariams. (There are over 3000 tropical fish, making it incredibly difficult to get a single kind).
