Redstone machines should be made more expensive because they make getting into the end game way too fast. For example, you can make an automated bamboo farm for fuel and trades, automatic sheep farm for wool and trades, and an automatic chicken farm for food. Redstone machines easily can get you to the early phase of the end game with an unlimited supply of resources just by going AFK. At this state, it becomes trivial to get diamonds, beat the ender dragon, get an elytra, get a full set of Netherite, and max enchantments with the exp you get from trading, and that is not including other farms such as iron farms and gold farms. This quickly makes the only thing left to do is to build a mega base and kills most survival servers.
To solve this, I propose to make Redstone components, (like observers, pistons, and crafters) essential to some of these farm, extremely expensive. For example, observers require smooth stone, Redstone blocks, and quartz block to craft, pistons need iron blocks, Redstone blocks, logs, and smooth stone, etc. Another way is to require an expensive, special crafting table for Redstone. There could be other ways, but the general idea is that these farms are buildable only in the early late game when you already have plenty of base resources and want to automate getting them.
This would not only make building these machines in survival more satisfying with a balance of effort and reward, but also allow worlds and servers to last longer.
