The idea would be to add a new slot to the crafter in which you manually put the item you want to craft and the crafter would have a template for that item. The crafter would only accept items that are necessary to do the crafting and the items are distributed equally as the crafter already does but only putting the ingredients in the correct place. When there is an item in the template slot the crafter would act differently with the comparator, instead of giving a signal from 1 to 9 depending on the number of slots filled it would give a signal of 0 all the time and it would give a signal from 1 to 15 depending on the number of times the crafting can be done at a time, for example 4 at a time: from 1 to 4 items it would give a signal of 1, from 5 to 8 items it would give a signal of 2 etc... When there is no item placed in the template slot the crafter works as it does currently. All of this would make the crafter's mechanisms much simpler when it comes to automating a single type of item while maintaining the ability to make mechanisms that craft multiple things (by not putting a template it would work like it does now)
