The pink sheep has always been iconic as the "rare sheep," so adding colors other than white, brown, gray, or black seems out of place. Mojang knows some parts of the game are iconic enough that they don't change them, like the shape of diamond ore or the creeper texture, and pink sheep should be unique in that same way.

I think the color changes would be okay if they also gave the sheep different texture/model variants like they did with the other farm animals

Why did this get included, now when I spawn sheep they are mostly going to be one color.

Theres going to be nothing but White Sheep, Having them spawn more then the others woulda been fine, but REMOVING them entirely from that Biome?! Im so sick of these go on adventure.. updates... give me SANDBOX Updates!

Since players can already dye sheep themselves, finding unnaturally colored sheep in the wild doesn't encourage exploration like the Pig, Cow, and Chicken variants do. In the absence of updated sheep models for variants, the colors don't encourage exploration, since the player can just make them at home.

With that in mind, why not take this opportunity to keep the neutral, naturalistic colors -- i.e. the traditional white, light grey, grey, black, and brown (and, rarely, pink) -- as they are, while tying the unnatural sheep colors to villages in their respective biomes? That way, landscapes can continue to look more natural -- which the other new mob variants add to -- while still incorporating biome variety and a way to find naturally spawned dyed sheep. Different village types already have distinct bed colors, and this could be a great opportunity to reflect that by populating villages with dyed sheep that match the colors of beds associated with that particular village.

Agreed, it makes the pink sheep feel less special

I'd much rather have sheep variants

I wholly agree, I like the idea of having the natural sheep colors spawn in specific biomes to make it easier to get the wool for a bed in early game and because it seems realistic, and I like the idea of seeing the dyed sheep to introduce players to the concept in game. Adding them to villager pens is a great idea to integrate them (especially if they match bed colors). I don’t like the idea of seeing unnaturally colored sheep spawn regularly in game because it makes the pink one feel less special and just doesn’t make sense.

Yeah, can we go back to the way it used to be: Mostly white sheep, with a few brown and black here and there, and the off chance of a pink sheep? I saw like some cyan sheep and I was instantly thinking that it looked bad in a spruce forest (sorry Mojang).
