Ducks And Farm Varients

In Minecraft, we currently have pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens. Since you've been updating these animals recently and adding more variety, why not introduce additional farm animals? We could add ducks and ducklings that would inhabit rivers, lakes, and beaches. Ducks could eat bread, which would make them an interesting addition to the game.

 

We could also include turkeys spawning in forests, providing another source of food and feathers. Additionally, it would be great to have doves since there are currently no other birds in Minecraft except for chickens. Introducing these animals would enhance the poultry aspect of the game and expand cooking opportunities. This could open up numerous possibilities for upcoming updates, especially for the spring drop!

    While I like the idea of more birds being added to Minecraft (real or fictional), I will remind you that chickens aren't the only birds in the game; parrots exist, too.

    Parrots exist but they mostly just look pretty and make baby zombie noises to freak you out. The mobs you're talking about exist and are nicely implemented in Mo'Creatures with similar design (doves are a type of Bird and can be tamed with seeds, but ducks and turkeys can't be bred for some reason without Mo'Creatures Extended). It's a mod for Java 1.12 if you want to give it a look. You can eat the non-dove birds, too! If we added ducks to main Minecraft, though, how would we keep them reasonably distinct from chickens? Would they lay eggs, and if so, what would you use them for? How would the meat be functionally different from chickens? I like your ideas and I'd love to discuss them further!

    I like ducks but I don't really see the use. Chickens can substitute easily with all their variants for aesthetics and already have the uses mentioned
