Bringing Tamed Pets back to Life

What if we were able to bring tamed pets back to life but only as skeleton animals?  Lets say you have a favorite wolf and it dies in battle with a mob.  After it passes on it could drop an "aura" or maybe like an "essence" that you could pick up and add to your inventory.  In order to bring it back you would have to craft some bone block and arrange it in a certain way with the aura added as well.  Kind of like making a conduit except with less blocks.  Then you would have a new skeleton wolf that would act just like a regular one and every time it dies you would just have to collect the aura and bones to reassemble it.

    Maybe you could give the essence and some emeralds to a cleric villager to bring the pet back to life.
