Dogs should NOT attack other players if you don't want them to

Me and my friend made a dog marriage before and there was like a whole army of dogs and I hit my friend by accident and then the rampage have started. 0/10 we never touched our world again.

    There is already a world gen setting for "mob griefing" (ie creepers & endermen can't destroy/move blocks), so it would make sense for there to be a setting where pet dogs can never attack other players.
