we spent years and years practicing the perfect and nice movement system that it was, and its like we got a big slap in the face with another way worse system. I will never update the game ever again if this isn't reversed, Mojang NEEDS to reverse this for the sake of their game, if they dont i doubt anyone's going to play it anymore.

If a mojang dev is seeing this, from a dev to another dev, from a player to dev.

I understand the whole ordeal of wanting parity between versions, but, and there is a big but, this is not it. We as Java players would rather have fallen trees, bedrock's cauldrons and the cool arms on armor stand, not this. Movement is something fundamental about Java, something that has been the same for 15 years.

I am please begging you to revert these changes and focus on all the other things if you want to achieve parity, not on the movement. Let each game have its movement quirks. This is not a good change and not something players want. You have proven a million times that you're a good development team who cares what players have to say, so take this in consideration and please revert these changes. The whole community is not happy, and quite frankly, a few brownie points for fixing a 15 year old "bug" is not worth it.

If Minecraft is removing mistakes that became features? When's the creeper getting removed?

i swear bro if we have another 1.9 its over for me. i love both 1.8 and 1.9+ pvp but if you add this ill be stuck on 1.21 and 1.8.9 for the rest of my life cus lets be real minecraft is gonna out live most of us. i just dont want to see the pvp and parkour skills ive developed (bad as they are) be useless just because you decided to fix a 10 year old bug.

disrespectfully a very unhappy minecraft player.

if mojang were to add this "feature" it would only serve to detract from an important element the community relies on, while adding nothing useful or beneficial.

Seriously, how can you call these bugs? If a "bug" exists in the game for long enough, it should become a feature. This would become the next "1.9" update.

the new updates are removing more and more of what made minecraft, well, minecraft. Ever since 1.17-1.18, the community around minecraft has been getting increasingly annoyed with the changes microsoft makes.

If the purpose of introducing this is to make Java like Bedrock, don't. Make Bedrock like Java.

This is litteraly only a negative why did they add this

I would like this change to be recognized, since I think this change is unnecessary, not only for the parkour community that we are the most affected people, but because now building is more uncomfortable because you move slower with the shift which also makes the experience of building much worse.

Please go back to the previous version where everything worked fine.

I know microsoft, u want realism but plz don't do this plz don't make 1.9 servers to not upgrade to 1.22 cuz of slow bridging plz no. This is a very good mechanic and isn't a game breaking feature, "some bugs just become part of the game" as many quoted. Diagonal bridging is a quality of life feature. If u don fix this imma go back to 1.8.

The idea of bedrock parity is starting to ruin things because most people agree on what features are better from what version but what happened is that Mojang is taking something that we've become so accustomed to that it's now the default and removing it in the name of bug fixing is terrible as it forces everyone to change our movement which for most players has been slowly perfected for the last few years

along with this it's important to understand what failing this petition means, Mojang probably won't see the backlash if this fails and will in turn continue changing everything we've gotten used to while I don't want to see it happen I expect that shield hopping, bow flicking, and many other things related to movement will be removed in the name of bug fixing if we don't show Mojang that bugs are only bugs when they harm the players

likewise to attribute swapping and kb tick manipulation it is likely Mojang will see these as bugs in need of fixing because why would any Minecraft player like these unique game mechanics that give a bigger skill gap to the pvp space

idk these are just my opinions im just some 1.9 nerd who likes cool tech and mechanic abusing and seeing one of the coolest niche tricks being removed from the game sucks while I don't plan on updating to the later versions (mod conversion is a pain in the ass) I still feel bad that players who want to play on the latest version will be stopped from learning all of these mechanics

(yikes bit of a yap fest)

This single change ruins everything. Can't even pvp or even bridge like what is this? This was the most useless change ever. Besides that, will you even listen to your community or just ignore it like you always do? It's not like it's a game-breaking bug or something. Mojang, for the love of God, just listen to your community.

Just revert it, because people won't be happy with this!

this "bug" is a has been in the game for over a decade! at that point its no longer a bug, its a feature! And then you guys randomly decide to "fix" this over 10 year old "bug" instead of fixing game breaking bugs? that just goes to show what your priorities are!
