It is ill advised to change basic movement mechanics this far into a games life. You're just asking to kill your game.

Removing widely used movement tech (that has been in the game for well over a decade and several community gamemodes rely on) is not only unfun but also a breaking change.

This is such a massive change to minecraft. It is not a rework of a mechanic like the 1.9 update but rather just a removed feature. Whole sections of the minecraft community are going to be disabled in one update. The entire parkour community won't be able to exist anymore. With this big of a change, the game we all love just breaks. I hope Mojang can listen to their players for one single time.

At this point these are FEATURES of the game, removing these 'bugs' because they're 'bugs' when they've been in the game for a decade is ridiculous, every player that has grown up with Minecraft has grown up with this, has learned to play with this 'bug' and it only improves quality of life, especially those who are into game play styles that NEED this. Mojang, why do parity if you're only going to make things worse for the player bases of ether version of the game??

Who tf thought this was a good idea. I don't get how out of all the things that they could add or fix, they chose to make the game worse by nerfing movement. Something that has never bothered anyone.

I havent seen a single person like this update so theres no reason to add it will just make the game slower and more boring to play when your say bridging. and bridging is already a very boring task if ur just normally bridging

Bedrock parity is no reason to do anything in Java edition. If anything we'd prefer that you stop updating java edition entirely and let mod makers continue to do content updates instead.

man these "bugs" have been in the game so long that they are basically features if this "patch" goes through to the update I guarantee that most servers are going to stay on 1.8-1.21

Playing in the snapshots simply feels less enjoyable. Even with swift sneak 3, bridging and building large projects is much slower. I wanted to give it a fair shake as the changes are small, but they are very noticeable and negatively affect my enjoyment of the game. These "bugs" have been in the game so long they are widely accepted features by the community. Additionally, I see no harm that they bring to the player. Experienced players can take advantage of these effects to increase speed of movement and building, however they are easy to learn through play of the game so give no unfair advantage against newer players in multiplayer settings. Nor do they change anything about the core PvE gameplay in any significant ways. These changes simply make the game more tedious to the player and if they go through, I worry my friends and I will log in less because of them.

Genuinely the new movement changes has to be reverted because I am not taking fall damage at 2 blocks 😭😭

I just don't get the reasoning here. Is this the beginning of a great bug purge or something? Are quasi connectivity and zero tick pistons also going to be removed? Why they would screw with such a fundamental game mechanic is just beyond me.

With how long movement has been like this, it would be in bad taste to change it now. It would mess with pretty much every longtime player due to muscle memory.

This "bug" is in the same class as MC-152728, both "bugs" improve movement and add depth to the game. Several players made use of both regularly. The thing is removing sneak sprinting and adding sprint interrupting actions was bad enough, but this change enters the territory of affecting a HUGE segment of the player base. We're talking about changes that affect building, PVP, and destroy parkour courses.

"Fixing" MC-152728 was a minor annoyance for casuals and ruined legitimate strategies that more hardcore players used to great effect.

However, this "bug" affects a far larger portion of the player base as it impacts builders. I can tell you right now, this "bug" was NOT on most people's radar as a "problem needing to be fixed." Most players probably used it without realizing it. I don't know about you, but when building large structures, my natural reaction when placing blocks is to hold shift, S, and a strafe key. I do this on all of my rooves and a sizeable chunk of my walls when building. So, what this "fix" really does is make a slow task even slower.

Parkour courses actually take the blunt of both of these "fixes" as several movement options and as a result ENTIRE courses may no longer possible in newer versions. You could get to a part of a course and suddenly there's an impossible move that you need to perform but can no longer perform. It's not like you can just fix a broken course either, change 1 block and the entire course might need to be totally rebuilt.

why does mojang need to "fix" things that had nothing wrong with them?

Why the hell change the movement?? No need to modify something that's been on the game for ONE AND A HALF DECADE.

This will hurt the parkour community so much, the servers that will need to REBUILD their parkours, just because of an update, as they wouldn't want to be on older versions, as that would be a drop in players.

    Please revert this update Mojang.

This completely murders high level PVP in ways that absolutely were not tested. Mojang, if you want us to actually play on the newer versions, stop making it so easy to highly prefer old versions. Half of PVP is still playing 1.8.9, speedrunning will forever play on 1.16.1, and this change would simply be another split. We want to play with the new cool features like the new pigs and biomes, but if the game's gonna simply feel worse to play, we're either gonna not play the new stuff or mod it back to how it felt better.

If they keep it they should remove 1.9 combat in Java to get parity with bedrock.

this isn't a bug, it's a feature. quasi connectivity was a bug, it's now a feature. it should be the same with this.

This bug fix was added for parity and to bring together the bedrock and java communities, but I feel as though this would just fracture the minecraft community as a whole. There have been controversial changes before like when 1.9 revamped the combat system and now there are whole groups of people that only play 1.8.9. If this change goes through to 1.22, I think that will happen again and people will only play on 1.21

this change is so dumb they should revert it asap.
