im not big in the movement scene/parkour scene, but this sideways looking 2% faster speed thing, is so awesome and cool, it would be such a shame if they took it away now, it would have been better to fix it a long long time ago instead of having it in the game for 15 ish years

this just ruins pvp and parkour. mojang should really pay more attention to the competetive scene of minecraft such as pvp, parkour, etc.

    This post is a IFESAVER.

okay, maybe i understand the 1.9 update a little bit, but THIS. MOJANG?? what is wrong with you? PLEASE revert these changes. its not doing any good and only harm. no one will use the latest versions anymore, they will stick to max 1.21, just like 1.9. no one ever wanted this change, it was in the game for 15 YEARS, and its been accepted as a feature! your breaking all of the parkour community, and the PVP community!

for some people the update (old bugs gone) makes no change but for a big part including me it changes a lot just the things that we are used to i think it ruins the nostalgie of minecraft.

This "fix" was not necessary at all. Listen to your community and reverse your "fix".

Reminder that the diagonal movement being the square root of [normal straight movement speed^2 + side movement speed^2] just means that the game used Pythagorean Theorem in the code from day 1. That can't be a bug, that's intentional. Bugs *aren't* intentional. It was *SUPOSED* to be this way.

I would love to hear the reasoning behind these changes since at the moment I am not sure why they were "fixed." These "bugs" have been a part of the game for a long time and players have not only gotten used to them but have utilized them to push the limits of Minecraft further. I do not believe they have ever negatively impacted the casual audience of the game but have positively impacted the long-term community. I would like to add the MC-152728 bug to this post as well since it is causing a similar annoyance and should be unfixed.

Don't do this. Bridging, PVP and parkour are such fundamental parts of Minecraft. Fixing this one simple bug ruins all of these. And why fix a bug that's basically become a feature anyways? Strafing in PVP? Gone. Hundreds of hours some spend on learning 45 strafes? Gone. Bridging world records and advanced bridging techniques? Gone. This isn't even an unfair advantage to keep in the game because it's really hard to do and it's another area you can improve in - 2.04% isn't even that much. And why do it if thousands of maps are impossible and world records unbeatable? Please revert this.

its like "fixing" rocket jumping in tf2, movement tech is always fun. normalizing it makes not fun to move around. I think this "fix" should taken back. And if you want to fix some stuff I want the ench table level cost system is more important to be fixed.

These updates are stupid and ruin the movement of the game for literally no reason. I don't think a single person ever has had a negative experience with any of these bugs. Minecraft's movement is one of it's most perfect aspects. Don't change it.

It's funny how every one of these recent updates adds some random pointless stuff (not all content of the new updates ofc) and ruins original aspects of the game bit by bit...

This 'glitch' has been in the game basically since release, and removing it would do more harm that what mojang would ever expect

At first when I heard about this, I thought to myself: "They must be joking, no way." And then I went to check it myself, it was real. Please don't ruin the game like this Mojang.

    please reverse this.

it's going to kill strafing, completely nuking 1.9+ pvp and will create an even bigger divide in the pvp/competitive community. more players will turn back to 1.8 combat and 1.9+ pvp servers will cease updating to maintain decade-old mechanics, creating a new 1.22+ divide. it's akin to removing the water bucket clutch, a bug that became a well-used feature. there would be no benefits aside from "maintaining realism" but at the cost of the game's quality-of-life.

if the bug doesn't break the game or is a decade old, please don't touch it!!

I know the company wants to move towards a cleaner and more polished game and that's fine but a part of minecraft's charm is the old bugs that people have discovered, learned and adapted to. removing them helps achieve this bug-less goal, yes, but it also removes the nostalgic character the game has.

there are many other bugs that negatively impact the game. this isn't one of them, so please leave it be.

    Please revert your changes, Mojang!.
There is no objective reason for this feature to be removed! It only serves to make certain aspects of Minecraft LESS fun. This change will impact Minecraft PVP and Parkour scenes GREATLY if it goes through. Worst of all, there was completely no transparency or warning of this. Fundamentals of the game should not be changed at a wim. Some old quirks ARE what makes Minecraft the game we all know and love. I know the developers of this game care very much about it as well, so I hope they listen!

this is the same as removing coyote jumps, there is no reason, and its just makes the game more annoying.

Mojang you need to hire a team specifically for knowing the current trends, algorism's, and wants in Minecraft. So bad

I never really thought of 45 strafe as something impactful until the day I saw it removed.

I AM NOT ACQUAINTED WITH HOW SLOW SHIFT BRIDGING IS WITHOUT IT.
