New ocean wave system inspired by the Lego Movie, where waves rise incrementally by 1 pixel on each adjacent block of water. These waves will have a physics system that affects each & every water block within an ocean or river with flowing water. Still ponds may exist.
Motion: Waves rise by 1 pixel on each adjacent block of water, creating a dynamic & flowing wave effect. Maybe some rise by 2 pixels between each block, or more, to represent higher crests of the wave, or higher reaching wave shapes.
Height Variation: The wave heights range from 8 pixels (minimum) to 16 pixels (maximum), so a range of 8 pixels to express these waves. Waves never go below 8 pixels so that the player can get from the water to land. & a slab, an 8 pixel tall structure is the minimum amount of pixels it takes to walk on to the next block, so that's why I chose that minimum.
Physics System: Each block of water will be influenced by the physics system, causing waves to propagate naturally & realistically across the water surface. This means that waves all over the ocean are at different heights, & creating different sizes all over.
I chose to have waves within just a block to keep them more simple, & not worry about the physics of them going onto land. Additionally, occasionally the water will change to a more clear/whitish color for fast moving water, like how it functions in real life. Lastly, boats will climb up these waves.
