Egging a block changes the appearance temporarily (victimless griefing)

Throwing an egg at a block should cause that face of the block to develop a temporary (10 in game minutes maybe?) smashed egg appearance ie that side of the block becomes white with a yellow square in the middle. This should self resolve fairly quickly and if a chicken is spawned it shouldnt happen. This would give a harmless middle ground option for players who want to prank/grief their friends without causing actual destruction, in addition to giving another use for the almost useless egg and giving minecrafters a ridiculous new art medium
