You know I really like the idea of the Creaking, being a creepy/stalkerish addition to our already creepy beloved game. But I think, based on what I have observed from many gameplays and TikTok comments, it's not as popular as the devs wanted it to be. And to be honest, it does give off a pretty bland aura for a mob that was marketed as "Creepy". To be fair, it is creepy, but for many, it's not enough, and the mechanics are pretty vague. It has also been said to give off an unoriginal vibes since there have been many concepts like these in other games and movies, and it does sound like an oversqueezed idea for decades now.
And so "I’d like to share a suggestion regarding the Creaking. While it’s an interesting concept, I think it might work better as a completely new mob rather than its current form. Perhaps it could be reintroduced as a variant of the Creeper, called a 'Treeper.'
Instead of sneaking up and exploding, the Treeper could stalk players from a distance, camouflaging itself among the trees. It could create a unique mechanic where players experience hallucinations—called 'Trippiness' or 'Treepiness'—to build suspense. When the Treeper gets close enough, it could trap players by pulling them into its tree-like body, suffocating and digesting them over time. Players would need to escape by breaking free with tools like an axe.
This approach could repurpose the core idea of the Creaking and provide a fresh new variant addition to the game, I think.
