I suggest that adding coal to an iron ingot can make steel. Steel can be used for many Redstone appliances. For instance, the industrial piston, which has a higher block pushing limit, and can push tile blocks like chests, dispensers and more. Nest is the industrial hopper. This hopper holds more items, can orient sideways and upwards, and let's items through faster. It also includes the power cannon, which shoots items farther, shoots projectiles, and launches lit tnt and other gravity blocks.
Other things steel would be used for is a sawmill block for processing wood, bolts for crossbows, armor and sword which all have the same durability as diamond, same defense as netherite, and the same armor toughness as netherite. Steel can be made into blocks, but it can also be made into chains, grates, and even beams. Steal beams can be combined with ingots to get some steel frames, which can be used to make reinforced blocks. Reinforced blocks take more than one explosion to destroy due to high blast resistance. All steel blocks also have the same blast resistance. These uses for steel could be so cool for Redstone and survival due to the fact that this could create more opportunities for pushing contraptions.
