Decorated pots

I often make decorated pots with a sherd/image on only ONE side. I like the simplicity of not having images all around. HOWEVER, I think decorated pots would look more finished if the plain sides also had the golden hued bands that the sides with an image have at the top and bottom. Even decorated pots with all 4 sides plain would look better in my opinion with the simple bands around top and bottom. Otherwise, the texture and size are too similar to a terracotta block.
