  I don't think Mojang really intends to use copper to make armor with (play with a mod if you want that), but yeah, I agree that copper needs more functionality for being as common as it is.

  Yes, Copper Armor would be nice.

  But be careful on that part, you don't know how Copper Armor may be added into the game, it could either be a smithing template or found in difficult locations.

  Anyways, Copper Armor sounds like a great idea, but that doesn't change the fact that Copper will still be extremely abundant, so even so, there's still too many gaps for copper uses for getting around 3 stacks per mining session.
  I'll add onto this though, maybe copper weapons, a sledgehammer made of copper to more easily destroy blocks and fight off stronger enemies, maybe you can add copper to the mace and make it able to store up lightning so you can shoot it out at long-range enemies.

  But honestly, building with copper is still tough due to the lack of good designed blocks for unique buildings.
  Copper Golems could return in another way, or maybe adding copper to metallic tools could work and may very well be worth-it if added in the right way.
